INSENSORIUM
Seven States. One World.
Scent, Object, Ritual

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

MANIFESTO
You have been here before.
All of it.

The threshold.
The lucid dark.
The suspension.
The vastness.
The rapture.
The rest.
The release.

You just didn’t have a world built around it.

HYPNAGOGIA. PHANTASM. CHRYSALIS.
ÆTHER. ECSTASIS. SOMNUS. RUPTURE.

Seven states. One World.

A world for those who know
there is more to consciousness
than waking life.

INSENSORIUM.

Scent opens it first.

Everything held together by identity begins to loosen.

Not destruction. Release.

Teresa of Ávila called it the innermost room, finally open.
Zen calls it kensho, seeing one’s true nature.
Every tradition that goes this far arrives at the same wordless place.

RUPTURE, the seventh state.

The body knows when it is finished.

It doesn’t negotiate. It doesn’t explain.

It lowers itself into the dark and begins the work only stillness can do.

After the flood, the falling.
After the rapture, the rest.

SOMNUS, the sixth state.

Ékstasis. To stand outside oneself.

Not a metaphor. A physical event.

The chest opens. Time stops negotiating. The story you tell about yourself, who you are, where you end and the world begins.

You dissolve without warning
and what remains is pure,
overwhelming joy.

The dervishes found it in spinning.
The ancients found it in ritual and wine and collective abandon. You have found it in a room at four in the morning
when the music was exactly right and something in you let go without deciding to.

EKSTASIS, the fifth state.

You are in the room.
And then you are above it.

Not dreaming. Not imagining.
Something that feels more real than either.

Those who have been there struggle to explain it and never forget it.

Not you moving through the world.
The world, moving through you.

ÆTHER, the fourth state.

The alchemists called it the nigredo.
The blackening. The necessary dark.
Everything familiar, losing its certainty.

Not destruction. Not yet transformation.
A holding state.
A pressure you cannot move through, only remain inside.

You have been here. That period of not knowing.
That stillness that felt like stalling,
but was the work itself.

CHRYSALIS, the third state.

You are still asleep.
You know you are dreaming.
You choose to stay.

Lucid dreaming. The Tibetan masters built an entire practice around this state.

Consciousness arriving inside sleep like a light in a dark room.

Not to wake up. To see.

PHANTASM, the second state.

Dalí called it the source.

He learned to catch himself at the edge of sleep and stay there,
conscious enough to remember, open enough to receive.

You fall through every night. Without knowing. Without stopping.

What if you noticed?

HYPNAGOGIA, the first state.

Before the word, the feeling.
Before the feeling, the threshold.
