Over the past year, Partnership with Children CEO @WesnerPierre has had the privilege of being part of a national working group on youth and trust through @TheAspenInstitute’sAllianceforSocialTrust. They went into communities. They created space for young people to tell the community at large — in their own words — what trust feels like when it’s real, and what it feels like when it isn’t.Some of those young people were my CDP Fellows who over the last 4 years i have had the privilege of teaching and working along side. Their voices are in this research. Their clarity is what makes it worth sharing.What we heard was not complicated — it was honest. Trust grows where young people feel seen, valued, and free to be authentically themselves. It deepens through relationship, through consistency, through adults who show up not just with good intentions but with follow-through. Social-emotional growth does not happen in a vacuum. It happens in spaces that earn it.This summit brings together leaders across sectors to share ideas, elevate solutions, and advance trust-building as a national priority. We come as collaborators and co-learners — because the same principles we center for young people apply here too: listen actively, lead with empathy, and let shared purpose guide the work.On Tuesday, I’ll be bringing all this research and my years of working in youth development into that room alongside. #TrustInPractice #CommunityBuilding #SocialTrust #TheAspenInstitute by @enterthejules
