Thank you all who collaborated on this event! Our screening of No Other Land was an evening of collective grief, recognition of the horrific ongoing injustice and genocide perpetrated on Palestinians, and a renewal of the importance of global solidarity, as made evident by our guest speaker Asher Kirchner, an anti-zionist Jewish activist connected to the struggle in Massafer Yatta. We look forward to future film screenings and other events that raised awareness, and provide hope through collective discussion and action. by @envisionourmovement
We are honored to host a screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary NO OTHER LAND. 🍉🇵🇸 This essential film offers an intimate look at the destruction of Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta, filmed over several years by a collective of Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers. Following the film, we will be joined by Asher Kirchner, an activist with CJV and IJV who was present in the region during the time of filming and has direct connections to the filmmakers. This is a rare opportunity for a firsthand perspective and community dialogue. Plus, hear from local orgs about how we can connect the struggle in Palestine to the fights here at home: ICE raids, land defense, and more. This is about linking struggles and building power together. 📅 Date: Saturday, March 7 🕟 Doors: 4:30 PM 🎬 Film: 5:00 PM 🗣 Discussion: 6:30 PM (Light refreshments provided) 📍 Location: Rennie Hall, Emily Carr University, 520 E 1 Ave. Vancouver Admission is free, but space is limited. 🔗 Register via the link in our bio! Please share this and bring your community. by @envisionourmovement

On this national day of action against RBC, hear this statement of solidarity from our friends at Envision Our Movement (@envisionourmovement ), a group of artists and cultural workers who is just as passionate about bashing the banks as we are. Thank you for your support! Image description: All slides are on a watercolor background with several pastel green gradients scattered around. First slide depicts the Envision Our Movement logo: the black letters EOM in thin lettering stretched to fit inside a white circular background. Second to fourth slides depict the statement written on a beige parchment. Fourth slide also depicts a picture of EOM’s performance at the Bye-Bye Banks Bash, featuring two singers, a guitarist and a drummer. by @envisionourmovement

SO-CALLED VANCOUVER AND ALL IN THE AREA: JOIN US ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' DAY, JUNE 21ST 2PM AT ROBSON SQUARE From June 15th to 17th Canada is hosting the G7 Summit in the so-called “Calgary” area. The Group of 7 (G7) is an informal alliance of seven of the largest capitalist countries including the USA and Canada. As inter-imperialist conflict heightens, imperialist powers continue to bolster their economies and military capacity to engage in the territorial and economic re-division of the world. Despite the inflating cost of living, increasingly weak social services, drastically underfunded schools and services for Indigenous children, teens and families, and over 600 reserves without clean drinking water, Canada still funnels billions into NATO with commitments of 3% of the national GDP to military spending, $2.3 billion to the Indo-Pacific Strategy, $1 billion to border security, and millions to inflating local police budgets including an annual $5 million for the VPD’s operation barrage to displace unhoused community in DTES, and over $10 million annually on the CIRG/CRU to police land defenders. The calls of the G7 for peace, security, stability, and mutual benefit are mere lip service to the people, who are increasingly becoming more aware of imperialist multilateral alliances as tools of oppression and domination. But nevertheless, the people resist! From Wet'suwet'en and Gitxsan to Grassy Narrows and Mi'kma'ki, Indigenous land defenders and organizers are fighting against Canadian colonialism! And around the world, from Palestine to the Philippines, Indigenous peoples organize against Canadian imperialism! Mark your calendars for June 21st to rally against the Genocidal 7 and how they threaten the lives and livelihoods of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples from Turtle Island to Indo-Pacific, from the Middle East to Africa, from Europe to Latin America! Stop Canada's $9 Billion Militarism! Resist U.S. imperialism! Resist the Genocidal 7! by @envisionourmovement
Are you in the "vancouver" or "surrey" areas? Join this weekend for one of our art builds! From June 15th to 17th Canada is hosting the G7 Summit in the so-called “Calgary” area. The Group of 7 (G7) is an informal alliance of seven of the largest capitalist countries including the USA and Canada. The G7 meetings in the last few years have focused on climate, nuclear agreements, US proxy war in Ukraine, and a shift in focus to the Indo-Pacific region for economic control and military intervention, especially the clear stoking of aggression toward up and coming imperialist powers, such as China and Russia. However, the G7 would have you believe this is a legitimate pursuit of peace and stability. Gather with us to make anti-war banners, posters, and art in preparation for the Mass Mobilization Against the G7 on June 21st 2:00pm in “vancouver”! We will also discuss warmongering around the world, how this is increasingly funnelled into the Indo-Pacific through the militarization of the Philippines, and how Canadian mining and militarization in the Philippines reverberates onto the rest of the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. by @envisionourmovement
🔥 ILPS RESIST G7 FUNDRAISER RECAP 🔥 The G7 summit is bringing together world “leaders” from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, along with the European Union and meeting here in so-called Canada. They will coordinate on global issues, including the Indo-Pacific strategy. Members of Anakbayan SVR, as well as fellow national democratic and allied organizations, say SHAME to the Gen*c1de 7! US-Canada out of the Philippines now!! In rage and solidarity, AB-SVR attended and performed with talented activist-musicians earlier this week for the @ilps.canada G7 concert fundraiser ❤️‍🔥 Funds will be supporting organizers who are attending the counter summit hosted in so-called Alberta next weekend and resisting the G7!! Fundraising efforts are still ongoing and you can e-transfer to ilps.canada@gmail.com 🌱🌱🌱 📸 @waynewyork @desireegabriel by @envisionourmovement
