February is the month for love, and love was the theme for @amavaarts ‘s AOTM.
I have to admit, sometimes I finish a piece with a feeling that it could have been better, it was the case here with the background. It was nice, simple, representative of the characters, but it was just not working with the scene. So, I started from scratch and did a second one…I ended up redoing half of it. The lack of perspective in my drawings is a huge issue I’ve been experiencing for a while, and I still can’t stick it in my brain.

These two specific characters have a special place in my heart, being my OCs and book characters make them important to me in such a way that I had to make things right. Layana (in green) and her sister Laera are the first ones I’ve ever imagined, and this was almost one year ago. More info on this topic will come this year, as well as a proper character design for both.

The pose made it hard because of the angle for both heads, placement of the arms, the way the hands are being place. The bottom one was the worst to do, but I’m quite happy with how it turned out. One thing I know is that I have to learn to draw different type of hair. I like these, but I have to be able to make different textures for them. That will be for the future. I’m happy with the general anatomy for both, but I take too much time to my taste to get it right.

I started to draw a bit more than one year ago, starting with a pen tablet and with absolutely zero knowledges. In January, I started to take drawing seriously and to learn using a display tablet, that was where it all really started. Spending hours improving my rendering and to study my anatomy, particularly in June and July. I had some goals.

So here is a remake of a project I’ve done on November 10th, 2022. Instead of putting a few hours in, I spent a whole week, working 1-2 hours a day on it.

For those asking, no, I haven’t traced anything, but I indeed verified if everything was in good proportions with the reference. That brings me to my goals for next year.

1.      Being able to draw a full character, not just a portrait.

2.      To take less time doing it, my way to work is time consuming.

3.      Not to have to verify if I’m ok in comparison to the reference.

This last point is really more a question of self confidence than a question of capabilities, it will come with time and experience, but it’s still a goal I have in mind.

New Tomb Raider fan art! What started as an anatomy sketch in my sketchbook became a full artwork on its own. October is packed with projects (I have 2 others to complete, including the Halloween collab with the goat @skulltag_illustration ) before slowing it down a bit and focusing on my learning.

I’m evolving, I like what I do, but feel like I could do better, and will if I put my focus in the right place. November will be the start of a new chapter for sure 🔥 by @enzo.arts

Hey everyone! This time I wasn’t gone for long hehe.

Well, little fanart for @samdoesarts ‘s Birb. I absolutely love Bob, and if you know him, you know he likes to make friend with anyone, so why not Birb? And yes, I did get the latest plushie and called him Bob 😎

Aaaaan a new artwork. I saw a ref and kinda liked the pose , so I finally decided to do a Tomb Raider fan art. I don’t know if anyone is excited for Legacy Of Atlantis but I am! Other works will be coming, but I’m finally happy with what I’m doing right now!

Hello everyone! Long time no see.
This is the first artwork I’ve done since January, and as you may notice it’s very different from what I usually draw. Well this is because I took the decision to get back to art working more on my fundamentals, but also on my style and what I enjoy to make.
For months, not to say a year or more, I’ve been looking at some artists thinking “I wish I had a more simple style, allowing me to just throw ideas I enjoy doing instead of spending a decade on a single piece”. And I think the time has come to dig this way.

I’ll get back to complexity later on, but I’m already working on various things regarding my art and I don’t want to overwhelm myself just yet. I’ll go with how I feel about a piece, make it exist first and if I like the composition, well I’ll have all the time in a few years to make it even better and suiting my vision.
So all that to say, don’t expect any consistency in my works nor schedule, I’m evolving in the dark with no light to see anything. Am I excited? Definitely!

I hope you all enjoy this little Rose Winter fan art I did after finishing the Resident Evil Village DLC! I’m currently working on a Claire fan art, among other concepts I have ready to sketch.

New year, new goals, new start and all. To what extend?

Ditching my art style and goals, ditching what I thought I knew, starting everything from a new point. But what and how, that’s the question. I don’t know what will happen on this account in the future, I’ll draw more and learn, will share some stuff and just enjoy drawing, that’s for sure. That being said, my secondary account, which was meant to welcome many creative things, is getting into a restructuring process and will instead be dedicated to pixel art and cross stitching. This is a new journey starting, and something that is going to have a huge importance in my life as a person and as an artist. I’ll make a dedicated post sooner or later, I just wanted to give you some insight in this first post of the year.

Yapping over, now what about this piece?
I decided to throw myself into a DTIYS to kinda force myself into drawing again, for the past few months it was impossible so I thought “I have an idea, I have a deadline, and why not trying out something complete in Procreate for the first time?” So I did, and I’m happy with the result even considering the flaws. As I said, my style will probably deviate from this with time, but time will tell what’s yet to come. (Wasn’t that poetic?)

I hope you all love this illustration of @rakasademon ‘s OC as much as I love doing it! Now the future is a story yet to be written.

“When I’m fully satisfied with my own view on it, the next step is to show it to my dad, he is my number one critic. If something is wrong, he usually sees it, if something could be improved, he will say it.”

Those were the words I wrote in an interview a year and a half ago. Little did I know that one year later he would be gone.

My father was the one person I would count on to say something about my art. Even if he wasn’t an artist himself, he had a good eye, and wasn’t scared of saying what he thought was right. He taught be to do better, to break the limits of what I could do and create better artworks, or anything in my life. And he will for sure be by my side for the looooong journey to come. I just wished he was there to share it with me.

I don’t t have much to say about this year. Did I progress? Yeah. Did I lose all motivation? Also yes. Will I gain it back? Of course I will. He might have left this world, but he will always be there to push me to be better. He was there to support me from the start, no matter our differing point of view on the topic.

As a kid I wanted him to be proud of me, but he always told me that the most important was to do things for me and to be proud of myself. He was proud of what I was doing, all the time, every single day having my back. Well I say today that I’m proud of what I’ve done so far, and I will keep going this way, and I will keep making him proud until the end.

It’s the end of a chapter, I could even say of a whole Act, but not the end of the story, the show much go on.

One thing I love is to improve and to get challenged. Another thing I love is to please my close friends. This was the opportunity for both things at once.

Two years ago I drew one of @tanhae.arts OC for her birthday, been a while, and honestly I felt like it had been long enough and I wanted to do better for her. So I jumped into a new concept; drawing her OC Medusa as a statue in a museum.

I loved every single step of it, every little challenge (hello the hand xD) and will definitely do more of this type of artwork in the future.

I don't have much else to say, except that I'm super excited to finally show this to you all!
