Baby elephant feeding time at @r.e.s.c.u.e Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, an amazing indigenous community owned and operated elephant orphanage / sanctuary. The elephants know when it’s their time to feed and which groups go in which order …

Reteti is a beautiful example of how kindness to Mother Earth gives back to people even more... 🌎 ❤️ In addition to helping a large number of orphaned elephants and other animals, over 100 people have jobs related to the sanctuary, and they buy goat milk daily from 600 local woman to feed the elephants.

These animals are critical to the ecosystem and just epic intelligent creatures on top of that. Close up one can sense the wisdom and soul.

The orphanage is in the northern Kenyan Samburu region - takes in orphans from the wild, raises them and returns them to the wild. Part of the broader conservation efforts that have helped this region on many levels.

Adopting an elephant on someone’s behalf is a great last minute Christmas gift :)

Maldives sky and shark diving trip a couple weeks back, super fun way to experience 🌎 … Ifuru island is a pretty epic skydiving DZ, they and @alterego.adventures put on a great event …
At @pelagicdivefuvahmulah took a tiger shark PADI cert course which was an experience, learned a lot about shark behavior and got to help the safety divers on shark spotting duty. Our oceans / earth can’t thrive without sharks and humans kill 100 million of them per year for some insane reason. Thanks 🙏@skydivemaldivesifuru @pelagicdivefuvahmulah @inah_shark @pelagicpanda @bendicko101 @will.penny_ @aex_pink @aex_clutch @koala_in_the_sky and all the fun people at each spot

Such a fun experience with Samburu Warriors! They are earth guardians, tribal protectors, wisdom keepers, dancers…

I recently had a dream of dancing with tribes from all over the world around fires, reconnecting with our shared ancestral roots—the beat of drums and feet moving in harmony with the earth. A big thanks to Samburu friends for bringing a piece of that dream to life in Kenya earlier this year.

Their dance style—an energetic, rhythmic bouncing with minimal arm movement—reminded me of an African cousin to Irish step dance ☘️ and interestingly later learned this style emerged in part as a response to colonial oppression, where traditional dances were suppressed, and subtlety in movement was necessary to avoid punishment. Similarly, Irish step dance, with its emphasis on footwork and minimal arm movement, evolved in part to due to suppression of native Irish culture. This story echoes the history of Capoeira in Brazil, where enslaved Africans disguised martial arts training as dance to avoid detection by colonial authorities.

Kenya and Ireland share a history of being colonized, and I find fascinating to see the parallel in cultural expressions that evolved through adversity. It makes me wonder and curious your thoughts - does this represent a scar to be healed and opened up / changed (free the upper body to dance!) ? Or artistic symbols of resilience to be kept and honored ?

Love time in the ocean - had a magical experience this past week communing with humpback whales and participating in a series of ceremonies in Mo’orea. Connecting deeply with the land, the water, ancestors, and these ancient, wise beings (over 50 million years on Earth, with hearts weighing more than 400 pounds ❤️).

Listening to their songs, witnessing their gentle zen nature transform into playful joy—it was pure magic. We were blessed with so many amazing interactions, from gliding through currents alongside pods, to watching calves show off their playful energy, to the deep connection of eye and heart contact. 🐋🌊🌎❤️

Huge gratitude to @sonic_love_alchemy, @whalemedicinewoman, and @jaylove247365 for curating such an incredible experience. 🙏

captured these moments following a beautiful ceremony. Shortly after we got back in the water, this humpback swam directly towards us and then gracefully turned, passing by. Had been feeling called to spend time with whales for awhile, and it was an experience well beyond high expectations ❤️ ✨

“Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The sky paints a masterpiece every evening, find time to be present enough to really see it. Watch the last rays as they disappear into the darkness. Stillness and presence in this moment, or celebrating the close of another magical day of being alive.

As the sun sets on chapters in our lives, new dawns of potential and expansive opportunity emerge.

May we all find more moments in life to let go, watch the sun kiss the horizon, and dream of the new opportunities to come with the next dawn.

While the adventure side of life is fun, nature is where I find the most peace. Gaia is my greatest teacher and favorite artist.

We hear it all the time: “No fear,” “Fearless,” “Don’t be afraid.” But the truth is, without fear, there is no bravery. No courage... aren’t those some of the most beautiful parts of being alive?

For years, excessive and irrational fear controlled me. It dictated my choices until I went deep on a journey to reclaim my power and update the fear and risk algorithm at a very deep level. I stopped numbing myself. I learned that fear isn’t the enemy—it’s a guide. Sometimes it’s a valid warning, sometimes it’s just misfired instincts or trauma hiding as intuition. The goal isn’t to erase fear, but to reframe it and align to actual risks, to build a healthier relationship with it. Put the soul in control on major decisions. Fear can be a great survival tool. A charging hippo? That fear is your cue to get to safety. The person of your dreams walks up and your heart races? Breathe. Ground yourself, nothing to be afraid of. Beyond that moment, dig deep to heal, become unshakable and fear no longer drives you to fight or flight.

People sometimes think I’m crazy for skydiving or diving with sharks. But here’s the thing: less than 30 people worldwide die each year from those activities. Meanwhile, >15 million die from heart disease and diabetes, nearly a million from mosquito-borne illnesses, and in the US alone, 500 people die *every day* from alcohol. Yet, our fear sensors go off more at the idea of sharks or parachutes than they do at beers and fast food. The fear people express about sharks and parachutes would be way more validly directed at golden arches and bottles of vodka 😱

The algorithm in our heads needs an update to reflect actual risk. In this video from last year, fear is all over my body. It was terrifying…But this is where meditation, breathwork, and all those tools came in. Early BASE jumps felt like the intensity of 100 ice baths—a shock that forced me to be deeply present and became a platform for rewiring my nervous system to be more under my soul control. A couple months ago, toed the edge of a cliff in Norway and had very little fear present. All was right in fear and risk algorithm land. Will never find me at McDonalds though 😱 by @eoghan_okeeffe
