A little update from our side.

The past few weeks have been full of planning, coordinating and preparing for what’s shaping up to be an incredibly busy few months ahead.

With upcoming tours, new opportunities and ongoing conversations with management teams both here and abroad, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes.

A lot of this industry is about the work nobody sees. The preparation, the relationships, the long hours and the responsibility that comes with being trusted to look after others.

Grateful for every opportunity, every connection and everyone who continues to put their trust in what I’m building.

Stay in the game. Your time will come. 🎯

It’s easy to get disheartened watching other operators get the jobs, tours or trips you wanted. But someone else getting the call doesn’t mean you’re going backwards.

Keep showing up. Keep training. Keep networking. Keep gaining experience. Keep improving the things that are actually within your control. When your opportunity comes, make sure you’re ready for it.

I’ve also had a lot of DMs lately from guards who feel like their current employer is stonewalling their progression into Close Protection.

If you’ve genuinely outgrown your environment and there’s no pathway forward, sometimes you need to back yourself and find one that allows you to grow. Pursue better training. Get around experienced operators. Put yourself in environments where you can learn and earn opportunities.

But there’s another side to that conversation.

Before blaming the company, the industry or anyone else, make sure you’re doing everything required to deserve that next opportunity.

Are you reliable? Professional? Fit for purpose? Properly trained? Easy to work with? Are you investing in yourself? Are you someone another operator would confidently put beside their client?

Don’t just chase the opportunity.

Become the operator people want to give the opportunity to.

Stay patient. Stay hungry. Keep building.

And we move. ✈️

Another airport. Another flight. Another assignment.

One thing I’ve learnt in this industry is that the environment is always changing. Different cities, different venues, different clients and different challenges but the responsibility and the standard remain the same.

Travelling for Close Protection can look exciting from the outside, and I’ll never take these opportunities for granted. But every movement requires preparation, adaptability and the ability to step into a new environment ready to operate.

That’s one of the things I love most about this career. Every job brings new experiences, new people and another opportunity to learn and sharpen the craft.

Standards aren’t claimed. They’re demonstrated.

This industry will always have different operators, different backgrounds and different ways of doing the job but professionalism should never be negotiable.

How you present yourself. How you communicate. How you prepare. How you conduct yourself around the client. How you operate when nobody is watching.

The standard isn’t what you tell people you are.

It’s what you consistently demonstrate when it matters.

Hold yourself to a higher standard, and help raise the standard of the industry around you.

BUSY SEASON IS HERE. TIME TO TIGHTEN THE STANDARD.

The last two weeks have been full on, and it feels like we’re only just getting started. A quick catch up on what’s been happening, what’s coming, and a couple of things worth talking about within the industry.

One of them protect your credentials. I’m still seeing licences, passes and other operational credentials posted online completely uncensored. Something that seems harmless on a story or post can create unnecessary vulnerabilities for you, your team, your client or the wider operation. Not everything needs to be content.

I also touch on upcoming training and something I’m working towards for 2027 hopefully bringing experienced trainers from overseas into Australia to deliver courses and share knowledge with the people who’ve been asking for more opportunities to develop.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, plenty of work ahead, and even more to learn.

Stay switched on. Protect the operation. Keep raising the standard.

YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO BE THE LIABILITY.

In Close Protection, your client and your team need to know that when it matters, you can move, react and perform.

I’ve always been a bigger bloke, and I’m now 35kg down. Still plenty of work ahead, but a completely different operator physically than I was when I started this journey.

I’ll always be grateful to the operators, managers and teams who gave me opportunities when I wasn’t in my best shape. They trusted my experience, my work ethic and what I could bring to an operation.

That trust means something to me.

Part of this journey is making sure I continue becoming the operator those people believed I could be fitter, stronger, more capable and prepared to carry my weight when it counts.

And for any bigger guys in this industry who know they need to make a change there’s always a Day One. You just have to decide when yours is.

At what point does passion become an addiction? Because I think I passed that line a long time ago.

The pressure. The planning. The airports. The venues. The late nights, early starts and the moments where being switched on isn’t optional.

Different cities. Different clients. Different environments. Same standard every time.

Most people will only ever see the highlights. They won’t see the years it took to get here, the sacrifices behind it, or the work that happens when the cameras are off.

I’ve spent years building this career and somehow, I’m hungrier for it now than when I started.

I don’t just love this profession. I’m obsessed with mastering it.

Not every client wants the spotlight.

Some value the exact opposite. Privacy, discretion and the freedom to move without unnecessary attention.

Executive Protection isn’t about making your presence known. It’s about understanding the individual you’re protecting, adapting to their environment and providing the level of security they require without becoming part of the story.

Sometimes the most professional presence is the one nobody notices.

In our industry, we’re taught to stay switched on, carry pressure and keep moving but nobody should have to carry everything alone.
