Vilarinho de Negrões

Situada no concelho de Montalegre, nas margens da Albufeira do Alto Rabagão, a segunda maior do país, encontra-se uma das Aldeias mais bonitas de Portugal, Vilarinho de Negrões. 🏞️

Situada entre as Serras de Larouco, Facho e Peneda-Gerês, esta jóia transmontana remonta aos tempos de ocupação Celta, tendo sido ainda habitada por suevos e visigodos.
A agricultura, pesca e pecuária foram essenciais para a população ao longo dos séculos, e continuam a ser ainda nos dias de hoje. 🛖

A aldeia inspira beleza, história e cultura, existem vários detalhes que podemos encontrar de percorrermos as suas ruas com calma como é o caso do relógio de sol que podem ver na 5 foto, do outro lado do fontanário.

A aldeia serviu de inspiração a vários escritores como Miguel Torga ou José Saramago que se referia a ela como “Jangada de Pedra”. ✍️

Vilarinho de Negrões

Located in the municipality of Montalegre, on the banks of the Alto Rabagão Reservoir, the second largest in the country, lies one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal, Vilarinho de Negrões. 🏞️

Located between the Larouco, Facho, and Peneda-Gerês mountains, this Trás-os-Montes jewel dates back to the Celtic occupation and was also inhabited by the Suebi and Visigoths. Agriculture, fishing, and livestock raising were essential to the population throughout the centuries, and continue to be so today. 🛖

The village exudes beauty, history, and culture. There are several details that can be found by strolling through its streets, such as the sundial you can see in the 5th photo, across the fountain.

The village served as inspiration for several writers, such as Miguel Torga and José Saramago, who referred to it as the “Stone Raft.” ✍️
