The most expensive hotel in Iceland is $2200USD per night. I’ve stayed there a few times and I can assure you that is is one of the most unique hotels in the world.

The water for Iceland’s Blue Lagoon comes from deep underground, a unique mix of ocean saltwater and freshwater that converges in volcanic areas, heated by geothermal energy, and is then used by the nearby Svartsengi Power Plant for electricity before flowing into the lagoon, rich in silica, algae, and minerals, giving it its distinctive blue color and therapeutic properties.

Deep Underground Source: Seawater and freshwater mix deep within the Earth’s crust, under immense pressure and high heat.
Geothermal Power Plant: This superheated geothermal seawater is drawn to the surface and used to generate electricity at the Svartsengi Power Plant.
Flow to the Lagoon: After passing through turbines, the mineral-rich water is directed into the man-made Blue Lagoon, providing a continuous supply.
Unique Composition: The water’s milky-blue color and skin-beneficial qualities come from its high content of silica, algae, and mineral salts, which reflect sunlight.

Yes… the most spectacular part about Aurora Island are the mind shattering Auroras we see. But the whole experience of glamping on an island with heated tents, a hot shower, exquisite food and sublime paddling 🛶 is a core part!

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would own a Worldwide Luxury Adventure Travel business + a Kids & Teens Adventure Camp in Whistler, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. And yet here we are. It’s be a journey and a half!

I’m proud to say that we create experiences for both young and old and everything in between. And the experiences we offer come from my own personal adventures across the globe. This is my passion.

You see, that’s what makes @adventuresdoneright.adr & @epiccampswhistler so unique!

I spent years canoe tripping, kayaking and exploring the Northwest Territories before @auroraislandnwt was born!

I spent 10 months in Iceland cumulatively before making the perfect itinerary for the island rock.

Not only did I attend incredible adventure camps as a kid, but I lived that lifestyle for years before @epiccampswhistler was born!

I have lived an extraordinary life which I am grateful for. And that is the inspiration behind all we do. Indeed— that is what we offer. Adventures, Expeditions and Experiences selected from my most wonderful personal trips, travels and experiences. Memories for a lifetime.

When this is in your own backyard! There’s no doubt about it— we know our country like few others do! We’ve watched the polar bears up north; we’ve kayaked amongst whales in the Saguenay, we’ve hunted the auroras in NWT, we’ve skied the most epic runs in Whistler… and so, much, more.

And it’s with all of this knowledge that we curate the most spectacular adventures for you— whether it be in our own backyard 🇨🇦 or around the 🌎.
