Seven years ago, I started a business with an 7 month old baby and no real idea what the next seven years would hold.

At the time, I thought running a business was about having a good idea, working hard and creating something of my own.

What I didn’t realise was that entrepreneurship would become one of the biggest personal development journeys of my life.

Over the last seven years, there have been incredible highs. Opportunities I never imagined, amazing clients, a growing team, lifelong friendships, milestones worth celebrating and moments that made all the hard work feel worthwhile.

But there have also been sleepless nights, tough decisions, setbacks, mistakes, uncertainty, self-doubt and more lessons than I can count.

The kind of moments that test your resilience and make you question everything.

What I’ve learned is that business ownership isn’t a straight line. It’s messy, unpredictable and often much harder than it looks from the outside. There are seasons where everything seems to fall into place, and others where you’re simply putting one foot in front of the other. Both are part of the journey.

When I started this business 1 July 2019, Andie wasn’t even 8 months old. Seven years later, she’s nearly 8 years old, and somewhere along the way, the business, Andie and I have all grown up together.

The business has evolved. The services we offer have changed. I’ve had incredible people join the team, and I’ve had to say goodbye to others. I’ve celebrated wins I never thought possible, and faced challenges I never imagined either. But through it all, one thing has remained the same: I keep showing up.

Seven years later, I still don’t have it all figured out. I’m still learning, still adapting, still making hard decisions and still showing up anyway.

So today isn’t just about celebrating seven years in entrepreneurship. It’s about celebrating resilience. The ability to keep showing up, even when the path ahead isn’t completely clear.

And for that, I’m proud.

Here’s to seven years of lessons, growth, resilience and the rollercoaster that is entrepreneurship 🤍

How many sick days do women collectively take because it’s Day One?

Probably not enough.

Because most of us still show up.

We work.
We parent.
We lead teams.
We run businesses.
We keep households moving.

All while pretending we’re okay.

For many women, it’s that recurring day of the month we never look forward to.

For some women, it’s a mild inconvenience.

For others, it’s debilitating.

The kind of pain that makes getting out of bed feel like an achievement. The kind that makes concentrating at work almost impossible. The kind that follows you while you’re trying to be a business owner, employee, manager, mum, partner and everything in between.

Yet every month, millions of women quietly push through it.

They show up to work.
They attend meetings.
They pack school lunches.
They answer emails.
They care for everyone around them while managing pain that often goes unseen.

As women, we’ve become incredibly good at carrying on.

But some days are harder than others.

So today is a reminder that if a woman in your life seems a little quieter, a little less productive, a little more tired than usual, there may be a lot more going on than you realise.

And to the women navigating endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, chronic pain, difficult periods, hormonal challenges, or simply one of those days where your body isn’t cooperating - we see you.

Some days, getting through the day is enough 🤍

Today happens to be one of those days for me.

The laptop is open. The heat pack is working overtime.

And if you saw me at school drop-off in my pyjamas and dressing gown this morning… no, you didn’t. by @epsoffice

Small business owners are expected to be available 24/7 😭

Setting boundaries doesn’t mean providing bad customer service.

One of the hardest parts of business owner life is learning that being accessible doesn’t mean being available at all hours.

Just because someone sees you active on social media, replying to comments, posting content, attending events or spending time with family doesn’t mean they’re entitled to an immediate response.

Healthy work boundaries help prevent burnout, protect personal time and create a more sustainable work life balance - for business owners and employees alike.

Your message is important. It just might not be answered at 8pm on a Saturday.

Being online doesn’t mean we’re “on the clock.”

Normalise supporting your friends in business without expecting a discount 🤍

Small businesses are not “doing it for fun” - they’re carrying wages, overheads, pressure, risk and responsibilities most people never see.

The biggest compliment you can give a small business owner isn’t asking for mates rates… it’s choosing to support them properly.
