It’s been nearly two months, and I still can’t find the words to fully express what life has looked like and all the lessons learned along the way.

In December, I chose Gratitude as my word for 2025. Gratitude for where God has brought me, for where He’s leading me, and for all the more mundane moments in between that are so easy to overlook. Most importantly, gratitude for the people He has placed around me and the gift of getting to share this life with them. At the time, I had no idea how much God would use that word to reshape my heart in the months to come.

Because even now in the midst of a situation I would never choose, I feel so grateful. Grateful that God is rebuilding and restoring everything that was lost. Grateful for His abundance and for truly lacking nothing even when everything was destroyed. Grateful that what felt like devastation has become an unexpected place to encounter Him. Eternally grateful for the people God has used to carry us through this. Thank you will never be enough for everyone who has helped us rebuild, opened their homes to us, prayed for us, and simply been there. Your kindness and generosity have felt like the very hands of God reaching into our lives. Through you, we have gotten to experience the kingdom of God in such a tangible way. I’m more grateful than words could say!

He brings beauty out of ashes! He restores our souls! He makes all things new! He's the Prince of Peace, our everlasting strength. Though our earthly homes may be shaken, our forever home is found in Him alone, where nothing is lost, wasted, or forgotten but where everything is redeemed!
