Last week the @coopacademies Trust and EQTY in Music partnership showed exactly what it can achieve: 150+ young people from schools across the North of England performing on a professional stage at Manchester's @stollerhall in front of a packed audience, many for the first time. It was a wonderful showcase of talent and possibility 🎶✨

Two years of collaboration, creativity and learning through our Future Sound workshops all led to this one unforgettable moment on stage, celebrating the incredible potential of young people when they're given the space to create!

🎶 We’re back in schools!

As Future Sound prepares to get underway for another year, we’re looking forward to seeing more young people express themselves through music.

One participant told us how having professional musicians around to guide and support her helped things suddenly “click”. That’s what Future Sound is all about: making, learning, experimenting and those brilliant moments when it all comes together ✨

We can’t wait to see what this year brings and what awesome compositions the students will create🎵

It's back to school, and we are making some noise about the decline in music education!

The number of students studying music is reaching record lows, with 40% of schools no longer entering pupils for Music or Drama GCSE while A-level Music entries have fallen by nearly half over the past 15 years.

But we can help change that...

For instance at one of our partner schools, Co-op Academies Trust in Stoke-on-Trent, Future Sound has helped drive:
+125% increase in GCSE music uptake
+55% music tuition uptake

We’re still thinking back to the amazing Young Musician of the Year Future Sound Festival 🎶🎉
For many of our finalists it was their first live performance and under the guidance of their workshop leaders, all professional musicians, you would have never known!

We’re looking forward to more wonderful nights like this where we get to see the next generation of talent shine ✨
