After @oldjaymusic777 selected a dope @paxthecollector beat, he raised one question in the studio; “did they do it for the money, or the power?” So later that week at a public event @ocho_gr8 grabbed the mic and asked @unitedilluminating that same question. We got support from the whole state and rallied together against a utility company and WON. @mcclusterishere was that pain at the beginning of the track. The work we put in this summer was formally recognized by the Governor of Georgia, who has proclaimed December 12–18 as Georgia Youth Innovation & Civic Leadership Week in honor of the Equity Uprise 2025 Georgia Fellowship.

This is a completely different state, a different ecosystem, a different fight. Yet the impact translated.

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION
GEORGIA YOUTH INNOVATION & CIVIC LEADERSHIP WEEK

WHEREAS, McCluster Corp, founded by Matthew McCluster, has expanded its Equity Uprise Fellowship to Georgia to advance education, technology, and workforce development for youth and emerging leaders; and

WHEREAS, during the 2025 summer cohort, participants collaborated with Georgia community organizations and legislators to design environmental-justice and digital-literacy projects that support local economic growth and resilience; and

WHEREAS, the program provided training in policy analysis, media production, and entrepreneurship, preparing young Georgians for careers in innovation and public service; and

WHEREAS, the Equity Rise 2025 Georgia Fellowship exemplified how creativity and collaboration can translate into real-world solutions that benefit communities across the state; and

WHEREAS, December 12 is recognized as Youth Day, a time to celebrate and empower the next generation of leaders who will shape Georgia’s future; now

THEREFORE, I, Brian P. Kemp, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim December 12–18, 2025 as GEORGIA YOUTH INNOVATION & CIVIC LEADERSHIP WEEK in Georgia.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 27th day of October in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five.

@cityofbridgeportct officially honored us with our own day. Today December 10th is officially #equityuprise human rights day. Those who were honored were @mcclusterishere @ocho_gr8 @oldjaymusic777 @paxthecollector @ashon_voyage @evangelistangelcastellano and @mcclustercorp

Our October 5 event framed the conversation around Docket 516R, transforming a fight for environmental justice into a platform for community ownership, artistic expression, and civic dialogue.

On November 7, we carried that energy into the BPT Art Trail showcase at the Arcade Mall, thanks to the @bridgeportarttrail

Whereas, on December 10, @unitednations established Human Rights Day to reaffirm that every person is entitled to freedom, equality, and justice; and,

Whereas, @equityuprise 2025, a civic fellowship created by Bridgeport native Matthew McCluster and McCluster Corp, has brought together local artists, educators, technologists, and youth leaders, including Angel Kastro, Ocho Gr8, Pax, AJhon Voyage, Old Jay, Stay Tru and Eugene Izzu; and community volunteers whose collective work embodies these ideals; and,

Whereas, the fellowship’s October 5 Bridgeport event transformed the public discussion around environmental-justice concerns in Docket 516 into constructive engagement through art, music, and policy dialogue; and,

Whereas, these partners have advanced workforce readiness, digital literacy, and creative entrepreneurship, demonstrating how collaboration and innovation can promote human rights and community resilience; and,

Whereas, the @cityofbridgeportct values initiatives that unite residents in service, education, and opportunity.

Now therefore, I, Joseph P. Ganim, Mayor of the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut, commend all participants of the Equity Uprise Fellowship for advancing the principles of freedom, equality, and justice for all, do hereby proclaim:

E=Uprise @equityuprise is a program @mcclustercorp started to get artists paid to represent their communities voice in political matters. They use their art to educate the community on issues. The community would otherwise never have found out about. Specifically in this case @unitedilluminating threatening to take @shilohfamily and many other houses of worship, private businesses and more to build a modern pole system that will essentially tax CT Residents even more for electricity. These young people spoke up about it and even created an album against it. I even called the police to try to stop these young people from protesting and a desperate attempt to save face. This is the kind of activism that matters, and we’re proud to be doing ads with them. taken in Bridgeport, Connecticut by @equityuprise
