POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We are stepping up the pressure with a massive cross-border link-up!

On Friday 23rd October, we are taking over the Underdog venue in Cardiff city centre once again for a night of Roots & Culture and pure heavyweight bass pressure. We are bringing together a cross-border link-up, bridging the legendary Bristol sound system scene straight back into the Welsh homeland. Two custom sound systems, one arena, and nothing but positive vibrations.

Line-up

Firmly Rooted Soundsystem: Forwarding straight from Bristol, Firmly Rooted is a soundsystem and record label pushing the finest roots-inspired sounds straight to the people. Fully submerged within the deep Bristol sound system culture for years, their hand-crafted stack is engineered to pure perfection, built strictly to deliver the cleanest, deepest basslines in the land. The owner and sound operator, Jake (aka Supplya), is Bristol-based but actually a Welsh native, so it is a massive honour for Cardiff Dub Club to welcome him back to the homeland to shake the building! Expect a heavyweight selection of modern-day roots, dub, and steppas, performing with a strict focus on a conscious message.

Erb'An Dub Soundsystem: Your resident crew is holding it down for the Cardiff hometown. The full crew and special guests in attendance with Reuben MC hosting and toasting, wheeling out the ever-growing Erb'an Dub sound system to bring a uplifting vibration and that signature Dub Club energy.

Music

Expect a musical journey from the foundations to the future. We are dropping everything from new and classic Roots Reggae to militant UK Steppas from the first tune until the lights come on. Clean frequencies, custom boxes, and chest-rattling bass are guaranteed.

Cardiff Dub Club is back, and this one is a full of culture!

On Friday 25th September, we are taking over Underdog in Cardiff city centre once again for a night of pure heavyweight pressure. We are bringing together the Welsh homeland, North to South, in unity and bassweight. Two custom sound systems, one room, and nothing but positive vibrations.

Line-up:

Idris Sound: Forwarding straight from Aberystwyth! Idris have been running things for 10 years plus. They just finished smashing up the festival circuit, including powering the Dub Corner at Unearthed and joining the historic all-Welsh sound link-up at Breakout Festival. They are touching down with their infamous big green machine to shake the building.

Morgan Elwy: Direct from the hills of North Wales, this Welsh reggae artist is touching the mic for Idris Sound. He’s been tearing up festival stages all summer and is ready to bring those pure, authentic Welsh-language reggae vibes straight to the dance.

Erb'an Dub: Your resident crew is holding it down for the Cardiff hometown. Hosted by Reuben MC, they are wheeling out the ever-growing Erb'an Dub sound system to deliver that signature, heavyweight Dub Club energy.

We started to build Erb'An Dub Soundsystem about 18 months ago with the vision of bringing authentic roots & culture sessions to South Wales.

During that time we've done a ton of research and travelled all over the UK picking up bits and pieces for the sound, from Cornwall to Sheffield to London and plenty of other places along the way.

We still have a way to go to complete the soundsystem fully but we are supa happy with the sound and tone we have achieved!

This Friday is the biggest test for the sound so far, when our good friends JAH LOKKO visit from Bristol as this sound helped mentor me (DJ Truth) as a selecta in the years I was a resident DJ at the Black Swan in Bristol. Big D from JAH LOKKO was the very first person I asked for advice before I bought any speaker boxes and my respect for the whole JAH LOKKO / UNIQUE STAR family is concrete.

So, come join us as we welcome the mighty veteran soundsystem from Bristol to Cardiff city and feel the vibrations and we shake down the place with two sounds in one arena!!

Roots and culture back in the underground. Two sounds. One arena. Strictly vibes.

This time we’re calling in the mighty Jah Lokko Sound System direct from Bristol! A true veteran soundsystem in every sense, built and run by the crew for years and years. Known across the scene for their deep roots selections, serious one-away dubplates and heavy, heavy basslines, Jah Lokko are the resident system for Bristol Dub Club and have spread their message at sessions across the UK alongside all of the biggest sounds around.

Alongside them, Erb’An Dub Sound System from Cardiff city, stringing up the sound with the full crew and some special guests duty. Expect tuff roots reggae and steppas selection all night.

Two sounds in session.
High power. Heavyweight pressure. Vibration guaranteed.

Last time the venue hit capacity early – not everyone got through the door.
Tickets are limited, so grab yours quick and reach early if you want in the dance.
