Here is a series of videos and photos of one of the coolest things I have ever made in the hotshop.
Enamel White and Azure Blue folded and pulled into murrini.
Then cut with a diamond blade on a tile saw.
Then laid out on a kiln shelf. Heated and squeezed and rolled up on a collar on a blowpipe.
Then squeezed some more to get rid of any gaps.
Then close off the end and make an air-tight bubble.
Then smooth out the exterior so that when I gather over it there are no air bubbles captured on the surface.
After gathering it is a lot of heat, stretch, cone and blow.
Once blown out enough a putny is added to the bottom and you break it off the blowpipe.
Heat half way.
Tweezer, bonk.
Tweezer, trim.
Then shape.
Get it to the final shape, and break it off of the punty.
Into the annealer for 24 hours.

First day in the cold shop for BGA 2026 Master Class Additive and Subtracive. Took the hyacinth/twisted cane/grey and turned it into hyperspace. Addicted to sandblasting. by @eric14howell

2 pieces in the box on day 2 of master class.

Piece 1 is hyacinth inside layer, rolled up pieces of cane and twisted in an optic mold for the first time. Then stuffed that into a neutral grey cup and made a pill shaped vessel.

Piece 2 is enamel white inside layer stuffed into lapis blue cup and made into a traffic cone form.

Tomorrow we are in the cold shop to sandblast, grind, and cut. taken in Belger Arts by @eric14howell

The latest pieces from Thursday Night Glass Club at @belgerarts #glassAnnex
Used the new colors from @olympiccolors top to bottom the are natural grey, lagoon extra, cranberry pink, aquamarine and hyacinth. All over an enamel white.
It is one of the biggest thinest pieces I have successfully boxed and really happy with it.
Some of the color bits are a little thicker than I would have liled but that's ok. The piece bulged and folded in some cool ways. And used a dragging pick to put in some feathering details. Kinda worked sorta. But I love it.

Cup is some shard chunks from the folded murrini. I put them next to each other in the pick up box. Picked them up. Smushed them together and dropped them over a clear starter bubble. Love the whispy design. Would be cool to experiment with a contrasting dark color underneath. taken in Belger Arts by @eric14howell

Thursday Night Glass Club.
Was pretty much working solo so I decided to pull cane. Took some enamel white and azure, then enamel white and night blue. Folded, folded, folded, and folded. Will cut up into murrine. Can't wait to make something with it. taken in Belger Arts by @eric14howell
