ECLISSI 143 is a contemporary dance performance born from the encounter between a sighted dancer and her blind father. Inspired by the language of lighthouses, the work explores the relationship between the visible and the invisible, perception and communication.
Touch, breath, and listening guide an intimate and poetic work in which inclusion is embodied as a lived practice within the artistic creation process.

👀✨Session three – Alessandro Giorgi x Erica D’Amico

This project bridges two distinct yet complementary art forms: painting and dance. Through improvisation, real-time collaboration, and the interplay of light and shadow, it creates a unique dialogue between the fluid energy of dance and the enduring forms of visual art. The goal is to challenge traditional boundaries, blending the ephemeral with the permanent to craft an innovative artistic experience.

👁️Meet the artists
Erica D’Amico (*1995, Trapani, Sicily) is a freelance dancer, performer and choreographer based in Germany since 2019. She studied ballet at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and contemporary dance at the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich. She is involved in different collaborations with the choreographer Dustin Klein on various productions, performing at the Hamburg State Opera, the Origen Festival Cultural in Switzerland, in productions by Shirin Neshat at the prestigious Salzburg Festspiele, and at the Bavarian State Opera. @erica_dam

Alessandro Giorgi (*1989, Castelvetrano, Sicily) is a visual artist based between Munich and Torretta Granitola, Sicily. Working across canvas, works on paper, room installations and animation, he explores drawing as a form of visual storytelling across a broad spectrum of media. He has exhibited internationally across Europe, with solo shows at Munich Art Gallery and SARP Gallery in Linguaglossa, and at art fairs including NordArt and Discovery Art Fair Cologne. He was shortlisted for the Fluxus Museum Prize for Experimental Video 2026 in Paros, Greece, and for the Fumetto Comics Festival 2019 in Lucerne, Switzerland. @alessandro.giorgi

These photos hold some of the most vivid moments of Eclissi 143 ( 📸 @denys_markijan )

At the core of this work lies a deeply personal relationship: the one between my father and me. Bringing this relationship onto the stage has been a profound challenge for me, especially in the attempt to create an inclusive performance space. This is only the first step toward developing and realising works of this kind in the future.

I am deeply grateful to my team, whose care, sensitivity and dedication made this process possible. I am also grateful for the audience who was present and who shared this experience with us so openly and emotionally.

At the centre of this performance was the wish that emotion could travel clearly, honestly, and without barriers, from us on stage to the people in the audience. Dance was conceived as a way of being in a place together and moving together, moving emotions, and creating a language that can be reached and understood by everyone.

ECLISSI 143 ist eine zeitgenössische Tanzperformance, die aus der Begegnung zwischen einer sehenden Tänzerin und ihrem blinden Vater entsteht. Inspiriert von der Sprache der Leuchttürme untersucht das Werk die Beziehung zwischen Sichtbarem und Unsichtbarem, Wahrnehmung und Kommunikation.

Tastsinn, Atem und Zuhören leiten ein intimes und poetisches Werk, in dem Inklusion als gelebte Praxis im künstlerischen Schaffen verkörpert wird.

We always begin from the end.
This is the final breath of “Second Daughter”, my solo creation, last performed at @internationalessolotanztheater.
From here arises ECLISSI 143, a work in which I delve deeply into my relationship with my father, sharing the stage with him.
We look forward to welcoming you at the end of June 2026 at @schwerereiter München for our first performances. I’ll soon share the names of the team members joining me on this new journey. by @erica_dam
