My word for this year is Expectant! Expectant of God’s miracles to be made manifest in my life. Expectant of the testimonies that will come as a result of the seeds He’s planted. Expectant of the many blessings that I will experience. Expectant of the opportunities and doors that are opening up! Expectant of God’s goodness and grace that will show forth in my life! Lastly, Expectant of all fear, anxiety, doubt, pain, sorrow, heartbreak that is removed because Jesus Christ died on the cross just for me. I know in my heart and I trust in God that this is my year!

The United 4 Burks Memorial Basketball Classic was born from Burks’ own vision. Before his passing, he shared the idea with @coachdgent about hosting a game at Paul Quinn College. To honor that wish, Dwight partnered with Pure Intentions Foundation, Inc.—the nonprofit created to continue Darron Burks’ legacy—and the tradition began.

What started as Burks’ dream is now the driving force behind the Foundation’s scholarship fund. Last year, we proudly awarded 4 scholarships nationwide, and this year, our goal is to double that impact!

This year’s event will be bigger than ever! Along with the thrilling matchup between the Bruhz and DPD, we’ll also have a Fall Fest and Trunk-o-Treat for the kids—fun, safe, and full of treats! 🎃🍂

All are welcome to attend—bring the whole family and enjoy a day of community, celebration, and giving back.
