A few weeks ago we moved our girl @emily__ashcraft to Arlington after having lived with us for the past year since graduation. This past year has been one of the sweetest surprise gifts I’ve received! While I’ll miss her I’m beyond excited for all that’s ahead! Before heading off, she threw Brian and I an Empty Nester party! Complete with future plan themed outfits and walk out music, hundreds of printed photos with notes and memories recorded on the back, and my own empty nester survival bag! This girl knows how to make us feel loved and appreciated and the world is a better place because she’s in it! Wishing the happiest birthday to my favorite guy! 19! Wild! Feels weird not seeing you today but I love that you are loving where you are and what you are doing! 29 YEARS! 🥂 High school sweethearts>>> Baby Newlyweds>>> Nearly empty nesters>>> Full hearts! Those two kids had no idea what they were doing! Just knew that the foundation of what they were building would be built on faith in Jesus! Thankful for the solid rock we have stood on and the many blessings and joys that have come our way!
🎶🎶🎶We’ve got joy in chaos and peace that makes no sense. We won’t be going under. We’re not held by our own strength. Cause we’ve built our life on Jesus and He’s never let us down

Well… we did it! We officially moved the baby of the fam into his college dorm! Phew! (😭) We know we will miss him but beyond that we are just so stinking excited!!! We got to get him settled, meet his roommate then let him do his thing! First football meeting started the same day and they got down to business right away. On Friday we got to watch first practice from the stands and then catch a quick debrief before officially hitting the road and leaving him there! He is so ready! And we are so proud! He is going to thrive and we can’t wait to see God use all that is ahead to shape and form him into who God designed him to be! So excited and proud to officially celebrate a decision that was made several months ago with a signing day celebration! Luke will be starting classes and playing football at Ferrum College in the fall. His hard work, diligence, and dedication has paid off! From the time he was about 4 years old he told me he was going to play QB in college. That goal never wavered! He consistently had his eyes set on a plan for his future and even when some doubted he kept his head down and day by day put in the work. I am so proud of the many ways he leads by example and doesn’t allow others opinions of him distract from his goals. He has leaned into his faith and trusted God with all of the talent and opportunity he has been given. He still has many more goals and plans for himself but this achievement of the honor to fall in the <2% of high school graduates that get to play their sport at the collegiate level is a milestone worth celebrating! Happiest of happy birthdays to the one who first made me a mom! She is quite the gift! She embraces everything she does with her whole heart and more deeply than anyone I know! She’s kind and compassionate, loves Jesus, music, sports, and her family, she rises to challenges, and never gives up on anything or anyone. She works hard and is diligent in her pursuits. My sweet niece @sydney_jonesss has been living with us since June and is originally from Asheville. She is partnering with her job at the Hickman Place Starbucks to collect donations of supplies for her to take with her when she goes back to volunteer in her home community! Please consider picking up some of these supplies and dropping them off at ANY local Starbucks or even at my house and we will make sure it gets into the hands of the people in and around Asheville! I have been doing life with the Jones’ family for more than half my life. Today as I celebrate my 50th birthday, I’d ask you to consider stopping and praying for their community of Asheville and consider donating to the relief efforts!
