Today marks four years. ❤️

Just the other day I mindlessly picked up my phone on the way back from class to call you. I saw someone in a Steelers shirt and wanted to tell you that I couldn’t escape the Pittsburgh love.

It’s taken me four years to come even an inch closer to understanding the depth of the loss we all have experienced. In moments of big change and transition I need your reliable and consistent presence. I look for your wisdom and guidance, your sturdy hand and reassuring glance. I feel at a loss when I search but cannot find something that brings me the peace you did. A hole in my heart that cannot be filled by anyone else.

I read something that said: “grief is loss without any hopes of being found”. But I do not agree. I know I will continue to find you in every crevice of my life. I’ll find you in the people I meet, the songs I sing, the laughs I share, the classes I study for, and the heartbeat in my chest. You will always be there. You are forever in my heart and in my mind.
