Yesterday, I was reminded that “The gift of time truly is the best gift!”🎁

Damon and I surprised our son, Dylan for lunch at school for his birthday. 🎉🎂🥳

Last night, Dylan told me, “Today was a really good day, and you and Baba (Dad in Arabic) made it extra special when you came to have lunch with me.” 🥲🥰🫶

Dyl also said he liked his bday presents, the class donuts (a big hit!), and all the birthday greetings (thank y’all for all the shoutouts), but I realized, the part of the day that made his day extra special was simply having lunch with his parents.

Parents, if you haven’t already—consider adding the gift of time to your child’s gift list. It’s the gift they carry with them long after the day is over. 🫶❤️

What started as a simple trip to Home Depot turned into an exciting experience. We met Shaq (NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal), who generously bought our family’s first real Christmas tree and blessed us with a $1,000 Home Depot gift card. Grandparents are the best!!!! On 10.10.2025, my in-laws got to experience a Grand Grandparents Day at Dylan’s school, Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (ELCA)! The students took their grandparents on a fun and heartwarming trip down memory lane through the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. Everyone had a blast!

My in-laws were also excited to see their ELCA Alumni granddaughters (Deanna & Gabi Hewlin) and extended family (Kaleb & Kara Anthony) recognized for their academic and athletic achievements while touring the school and capturing a photo shoutout to each of their respective colleges made the day extra special!

October 9, 2025 — what a day to remember! 🎉 Damon’s 50th birthday was filled with love, laughter, and a few perfectly planned surprises. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make it unforgettable! One of the biggest surprises was a visit from his mom and stepdad all the way from the East Coast! 🥰 He thought I was just trying to take a picture of him… little did he know what was coming! 😂 Moments like these remind us what family and celebrations are all about. 💕

Today, the tassel shifted from right to left — and with overflowing joy, we celebrate our firstborn, Deanna, on her remarkable achievement of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Deanna’s hard work and endurance has paid off. This incredible milestone is only the beginning of the impact she will make in the world. Deanna’s nursing journey will begin at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
