Today—Kobe Bryant Day—I am offering this 1-of-1 original stippled piece for sale for $24,000, $8,000 of which (yes, 33%, for those who know your Kobe numbers) I will be donating to the @mambamambacitasports Foundation. If it goes higher, so will the donation.

I’m not the biggest basketball fan, but I have been inspired by Kobe’s mentality, work ethic, and the way went after his dreams. He is the reason I started waking up at 4 am to draw. The source image, captured by London-based photographer @neil_bedford , is my favorite photo of Kobe. It is iconic. When I see it, it reminds me of how we should all hold our passions.

I’m just now catching my breath after an incredible experience at arts fest. I met so many people and I’m so grateful to every single one of you who took the time to meet me, spend some time in my booth and support a living artist.

It’s been really challenging the last couple of years. When the world feels like it’s screaming for everyone to play it safe it’s hard to make the unpopular decision. I won’t ever stop fighting for what I love and I will always be in the corner of anyone going after their dream. Thank you to the people who sent me messages like the ones in this post, it makes me feel like I have purpose just by being who I am.

A very special thank you to my parents who helped me with so much and who have been so supportive even when I don’t make sense. Thank you to Uncle Bob and Aunt Annie for helping with set up and tear down and making the trip to be here. Thank you to Renee, Jon and Mikah for so many things, for making the drive to support me and for supporting my dream for all of the years I spent with their family. You all have helped make my dreams come true. And Kara, you were the best neighbor I could ask for. I’m constantly inspired by your artwork and craftsmanship. Thank you for telling me I got it when I don’t always feel that way. You’re a bad ass.

I also sold Astro Boy 😏 almost exactly one year after my failed weekend at Atlanta Comic Con. A perfect example to keep going even when you feel like giving up ❤️‍🩹 almost all of my work is up on my website with the exception of a few things but I’ll get everything up in the next couple days if you’re interested. Thanks everybody 🥹 my heart is full and I can’t wait to keep creating in my new studio. Home is where the art is ❤️ by @ericahummer
