I said yes to my greatest adventure yet🥹💍

On our first day in Kauai I wanted to surprise Eric with a helicopter ride to the waterfall from one of my favorite movies of all time: Jurassic Park 🦕

Since I thought I had been planning this surprise for HIM, I had absolutely no idea this was coming🤣 After carefully coordinating with my best friends and my family for weeks... He pulled off the most incredible surprise of my lifetime. He was even able to sneak my best friend Svenja IN DISGUISE onto the SAME helicopter without me even noticing (that's a whole story for another time).

Looking back, it's beautiful to see God's hand on every season of our lives that lead us to this moment.

@ericbrown I promise to never stop looking at this ring as a reminder of your love & I can’t wait for my hands to wrinkle around it throughout the many years to come🤍

It’s difficult to fully capture feelings like gratitude, honor, camaraderie, and heartbreak in a photo or video, especially on a day like this.

For this year’s Murph, we got our South Beach community together at 7:30am on a Monday morning to honor Lt. Michael P. Murphy and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this country.

Murph is simple in structure, but brutal in execution:

1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
1 mile run

*Ideally while wearing a weighted vest*

For over half of the group, this was their very first Murph. For the rest of us, we pushed each other toward personal best times, which many achieved. We had each other’s backs, literally and figuratively.

What made this year especially meaningful was the intention behind it. We started by taking a moment to truly honor Murphy and those who have fallen, shared a few words, suffered together through the workout, and ended with a prayer that perfectly captured the vulnerability, gratitude, brotherhood, and perspective we all felt.

And our celebration couldn’t have been more appropriate: at a local American diner, feasting on brunch like kings, soaking in the endorphins, laughing together, and feeling immense gratitude for the men and women who paid the ultimate price doing something far harder than this workout will ever be.

THANKS TO ALL WHO SHOWED UP AND TO @ericbrown FOR LEADING US THROUGH PRAYER!
