It’s been a long 18 weeks.

@kathiechungg just finished her last round of chemo 🩷🤞 She’ll spend the next 4 weeks recovering before surgery. We usually don’t have visitors, but I extended the invite to a few friends to come celebrate this moment with her (we forgot to take pics with some!)

I’ve never been great at expressing my feelings or asking for help. But I’m learning that healing only happens when you let yourself receive it, not just give it.

To everyone who’s shown up for us these past few months — you know who you are — thank you. Something as simple as a food delivery gift card has taken so much weight off my shoulders (I really do suck at cooking 🥲). This whole “village” thing isn’t just a saying. It’s real, and it’s carried us.

We’re taking it day by day. On to the next one!

Hi friends 👋

Earlier this year my wife @kathiechungg was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer, likely late stage 2 or early stage 3. As her husband I was completely unnerved and honestly unprepared for what was ahead.

My picture of chemo was… a dark hospital room, dark red liquid being pumped into her. Scary and cold.

What I couldn’t find anywhere was the husband’s side of it. What it actually looks like to care for your spouse through treatment. So now that we feel ready to share, I wanted to take you through a day in my life during one of Kathie’s chemo rounds.

We’re so grateful for the family and friends who’ve covered us in prayer and shown up for us. We love you guys. Hoping this helps someone else going through the same thing. 🤍

Rest in peace, Gio. You were my best buddy.

You're gone way too soon. My first pet and companion. I can't imagine life without you. We rescued you when @kathiechungg and I first got married, and the past 4 years have been a healing period for me with you in it.

You changed my life. Love you, buddy. I hope we can go on a walk again soon 🤍 taken in Rainbow Bridge by @ericchungg
