She’s a Good Nurse

I am honored to have been beckoned by my friend and former @blackboxacting instructor, the talented Madeline Bernhard, to direct a short she wrote in the style of a police procedural/prestige detective series.

The idea of this project was to showcase her skills as an actress (and writer/producer) as she moves onward and upward into the NYC market. And boy did she freakin crush it.
Joining her on screen is my buddy and ACADEMY peer Eric Norman, portraying a wearied but determined homicide detective, passing with flying colors as a role arguably 10-12 years older than himself. Such an impressive cast.

This was a wonderfully collaborative process, filmed in the quite malleable coliseum at Black Box Acting. Huge thanks to my mentors there for giving us access to the space.
And of course this production would’ve been 80x a pain in my a$$ without the assistance of the incomparable @seabolt who kept me on schedule and worked as an excellent boom operator and gaffer.

I am very proud of the work we did, minute as it may be. It was shot, lit, and edited entirely by myself but wouldn’t have the professional and artistic glow it has without the collaboration and hard work of my friends and peers.
Great job, gang.
