I guess if I have to finally accept that summer has come to pass, we may as well recap August and September. ☀️

What a busy and beautiful last couple months of summer.

Concerts, camping, time with family and friends, birthday celebrations, changes, beginnings, endings and RIOT, RIOT and more RIOT…

Like, I honestly don’t know how I have time to do everything I get to do.

But I do know that I don’t just have the time. I MAKE the time.

And while all these pictures make my life look like one big party, the last couple months have held a lot more than that. Some really high highs, a few lows I didn’t see coming, things I’ve had to let go of, and reminders of how lucky I am to have people who show up and love me through all of it.

I turned 49. I watched another kid leave the nest. I car camped in the back of my 4Runner and freaking loved it. I traveled to Colorado with some of my favorite people to train new Riot instructors. I danced at more Riot events than I can count. I celebrated SO MANY Virgo birthdays, took trips, went to concerts, slept under the stars and made a ridiculous amount of memories with people I love.

And in all of that, I was reminded again that this life doesn’t just happen to me. I keep choosing it.

I make the plans. I book the flights. I show up for the people I love. I say yes. I make room for joy even when life feels complicated. I keep finding reasons to dance.

And damn, am I grateful I get to.

August + September, you were a lot.

Two weeks later, they announced their tour and “we should go” made it out of the chat. ✈️

Just a few things I’m learning to tell myself when my brain starts turning feelings into facts and minor setbacks into full-blown life events.

Feelings are always valid, they just aren’t always reliable narrators.
