Investor weekend with Turning Point at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara. This was world class through and through. What an incredible deep dive into the world of politics and what’s really going on and the game behind the game. Very powerful. Very cool. And incredibly hopeful. I met so many amazing people. Real people. Real players. Top tier entrepreneurs and leaders. Great people of incredible faith and patriotism. I’m extremely grateful and encouraged. I’ve been around the conservative movement since 2005, I’ve seen everyone and everything. TP is the best. Hands down. God bless America and God bless Turning Point, Charlie and his incredible team. United we stand. Divided we fall. We must come together all faiths, all sides, to bring back the great ideals of American freedom the way the founders intended. #tpusa #turningpointusa #turningpointaction #vivek #santabarbara #ritzcarltonbacara taken in Ritz Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara by @ericm33

Let’s talk about how the media manipulates—especially in finance.

I consume a lot of financial news, and here’s what I’ve seen:
There’s an echo chamber—everyone says the same thing. Why? Because no one wants to be the one who’s wrong alone. So if they’re going to miss the mark, they’d rather all miss it together.

But then someone goes against the grain. And if that person ends up being right while the rest are wrong?
That exposes the herd.
So what do they do? They laugh, mock, and discredit that voice—because it threatens the safety of the narrative.

You and I might have different views. Even my conservative friends and I don’t always agree. But that healthy disagreement? That’s how we get to better answers. The truth gets sharper when it’s challenged.

Now, on the financial side—remember this:
A lot of these media personalities are portfolio managers. They control big funds. So they beat the drum of panic…
📉 Market crash
💰 Run to cash
🔥 Inflation's out of control

And when they realize they’ve gone too far? They start signaling to each other—“Pull it back.” The narrative shifts. The panic cools. But they’ve already stirred the pot.

This is why I always tell people:
Avoid getting wrapped up in financial headlines.
They're short-term.
They're emotionally charged.
And the odds of being wrong in the short term are sky-high.

Instead, focus on the long term.
Because the longer your horizon, the higher your odds of being right. by @ericm33

Let’s talk about the “Fauci of the Fed”… Jerome Powell.

Why do I call him that?
Because—like Fauci—he was part of the Trump administration, but his actions consistently undermined it.

Powell was a Trump pick. Yet during Trump’s first term, he made key decisions that made the economy look worse—similar to how many believe Fauci's moves hurt the overall perception and response of the administration.

Let’s break it down:

✅ During Trump 1.0, Powell called inflation “transitory”—and was late to raise rates.
✅ Now, he’s again calling inflation transitory—this time, he’s at risk of being late to cut rates.
✅ Back then, Trump was negotiating a tough tariff deal with China. While that was happening, Powell raised rates—making the economic conditions even harder to navigate.
✅ Eventually, Powell did cut rates, but it was late in the cycle—too little, too late to support the economic momentum Trump was aiming for.

So here we are again.
Trump may return to office—and Powell, the guy he appointed, could again be the one making calls that suppress growth, delay recovery, and make things harder than they need to be.

No, Powell hasn’t committed crimes against humanity. But his timing, decisions, and signals have had real consequences—and just like Fauci, his influence has extended far beyond his official role.

Powell isn’t neutral.
And in a high-stakes economy?
Timing is everything. by @ericm33

Let’s talk about China.

A lot of Americans are frustrated—and rightfully so. Whether it’s stealing IP, manipulating trade, or spying on our military tech, China’s leadership has been playing a dirty game for decades.

There’s even that viral video where a guy yells:

“Don’t trust China. China a bunch of a-holes!”
It’s funny—but also hits a nerve.

Here’s what many don’t realize:
From the Chinese government’s perspective, they see themselves as the chosen people.
Thousands of years of innovation, dominance, and cultural pride fuel the belief that China should be #1—not the United States. So if that means lying, cheating, stealing, manipulating markets or global systems?
They’ll do it.

Trump’s stance is simple:
America is #1—and we’re not going to let you climb by tearing everyone else down. If you want to lead, do it on merit, not by weakening everyone else.

But let’s be clear:
It’s not the Chinese people who are the problem. Just like us, they want to live peaceful lives, raise families, and build a future.

The issue is with the Chinese Communist Party—not everyday citizens.

So be informed. Be clear-eyed.
And don’t confuse government aggression with cultural identity.
There’s a difference—and it matters. by @ericm33

Smart investors aren't reacting. They're rebalancing.

It’s one of the most important things we do behind the scenes.

Most people? They set it and forget it.
Whether it’s a 401(k), IRA, or a robo-advisor doing micro-moves every day—rebalancing still matters. But the key isn’t just doing it—it’s how, why, and when.

Here’s the simplest way to think about it:

💇‍♂️ Your portfolio is like your haircut.
You’ve got a model in mind—a target look. But if you don’t cut it for two months? You drift. You end up looking more like Stephan (shoutout to my camera guy—good-looking dude, but you get the point).

Every few weeks, you go in for a trim. That’s rebalancing.
Same thing applies to your investments.

You don’t rebalance daily. You don’t chase headlines.
But you strategically adjust—sell what’s high, buy what’s low—and realign your portfolio to the model you actually want.

It’s systematic. Unemotional. Intentional.

And it’s how smart investors stay on course while everyone else is reacting. by @ericm33

Let’s talk probabilities.

I heard a great analogy recently:
If a dad is 6'5", the mom is 6'0", and four out of five sons are already over six feet tall...
It’s probably a safe bet the fifth son will be too.
No one would be shocked.

That’s how I think about investing.

One of the key elements in my portfolio strategy is focusing on profitable companies.
It might seem obvious, but most people overlook it.

📊 If a company has a strong track record of profitability, there’s a higher probability that it will continue. And in volatile markets, where do people go?

✅ Gold and metals
✅ Cash or bonds
✅ Or—profitable stocks that offer consistent performance and stability

So ask yourself:
Where are the positive probabilities stacked in your portfolio?
Because chasing hype is a gamble. But leaning into consistent profitability? That’s a strategy. by @ericm33

Let’s talk commodities for a sec.

Gold, silver, copper, wheat, soy, pork bellies—yeah, all the stuff you pull out of the earth or grow from it. That’s what we call commodities.

But here’s the catch:
💡 Technology is deflationary.
We’re always finding faster, cheaper ways to extract, refine, and produce these resources. That means long-term prices tend to go down, not up.

So while you can invest in commodities, be careful. If tech keeps driving prices lower, you might be holding something that’s working against you.

I’m not a commodity expert—this isn’t financial advice.
But it is a different way to think about it.
📉 Want growth? Know what you’re buying.
📈 Want to build wealth? Do your homework.

Always consult your own advisor.
This is just food for thought. by @ericm33

The U.S. originally got into crypto with a cost basis around $250M… now it’s worth over $10B. Not bad.

Should the U.S. hold crypto? Sure—just like gold, real estate, oil, and other assets. But let’s be real…

📉 Crypto is volatile.
💵 The U.S. needs a stable currency.
🕵️ Maybe it has value in sting ops or spy work—but it’s not replacing the dollar anytime soon.

And no, it’s not going to be a $100T market.
Global GDP is ~$120T. Half of that is labor. Crypto is digital air.

Useful? Maybe.
But let’s stop acting like it’s bigger than the entire economy.
Keep it in perspective. by @ericm33
