It was a good meal with our Goddaughters at one of their nostalgic favorites - @oldspaghettifactor. This one happens to be in Fulletton. A tasty meal in a historic spot.

What a fantastic Saturday exploring Downtown Anaheim!

Started the morning at Okayama Bakery before heading to @muzeo to check out three fascinating exhibits:

• Capturing Life, Creating Character, showcasing the live-action performers who helped bring Disney’s animated characters to life.

• The Happiest Place: SHAG Imagines Disneyland, a colorful, retro-inspired take on the park through the eyes of artist SHAG.

• Anaheimland, exploring the unique relationship between Anaheim and Disneyland, told through the stories and perspectives of the local community.

Then it was just around the corner for the Anaheim Fall Festival and @anaheimhalloweenparade!

I first discovered this event a couple of years ago and couldn’t wait to return. Between the creative parade floats (designed by @kevinandjody ), classic cars, talented local artists (including @haydenevansart), and all the family-friendly activities, there’s so much to love.

What makes it especially wonderful is the genuine sense of community. It’s nostalgic, a little quirky, and full of hometown charm.

Downtown Anaheim really knows how to celebrate Halloween! 🎃 by @ericthomaschu

We had a great time in Las Vegas. While some attended the NKOTB concerts, I would go around and explore the major Casino resorts and attractions on the Strip. Ate lots of tasty meals together and tried a couple of new things together. And those in the group who played the slots, they came out ahead. by @ericthomaschu

We had an incredible evening at #Disneyland’s #Club33. It was all delightfully decked out for the 25th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion Holiday. And it truly comes aglow in the evening.

We were there to celebrate our friend’s 33rd wedding anniversary. The entire staff couldn’t have been more kind and welcoming to all of us throughout the evening. From the chilled towels we received upon arrival to the chocolates we received at the end. Our friends even received a signed anniversary card and gifts from the Club.

The four-course meal was a treat. It was beautifully plated and every bite was enjoyable. I probably had one of the best beef shot rib dishes ever. Another winner was the braised pork shepherd’s pie.

On our way out we picked up a couple of souvenirs and took time to admire the decor and decorations.

Incredibly grateful to be able to share this Club 33 experience with our closest friends. And blessings to my friend who arranged the reservation for us. by @ericthomaschu

Had an excellent time at the Walt Disney Studies program at Frida Cinemas. This evening the series spotlighted Walt Disney’s classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea — The “American Cartoonist’s” first foray into a feature-length, live-action film.

It was my first time seeing this film. And it was much “weightier” than I had expected. Previously, I had only seen more light hearted clips, like Kirk Douglas singing a sea shanty, “Whale of a Tale” and a dramatic fight scene involving a giant squid. Of course there were some traditional scenes you might expect in a period piece like this — battle scenes between ships, underwater explorations, and even encountering natives in a foreign land. But the film touches upon much more serious subject matters like slavery, revenge, power, and greed.

I really enjoyed diving into the underwater world with Captain Nemo and can see why this 1954 film captured the attention of so many to this day.

The @waltdisneystudies are an exclusive and specially-curated film series selected and hosted by renowned author and Disney historian @jeffkurtti and shown at @thefridacinema. Jeff did an excellent job giving the audience some background and context before the film and special guest Kevin Kidney @kevinandjody bookended the evening nicely by sharing a presentation of rarely seen behind-the-scenes images and video from the making of the film — including the original (then completely reshot) fight scene with the giant “Sunset Squid”.

If you missed this program, don’t fret. There are 5 more additional films coming up. A link to find out more info can be found in the first comment. by @ericthomaschu

I was completely overwhelmed and incredibly inspired after visiting @lucasmuseum of Narrative Art in LA. Loved seeing so many different sketches, drawing , paintings, art pieces side by side. Each one with its own story to tell. Some familiar, some new. Can’t wait to go back to do it all again. by @ericthomaschu

We recently had the chance to check out the @lucasmuseum of Narative Art during a founding member preview. I’d seen plenty of teasers online, but being there in person is a completely different experience.

The structure itself is an architectural marvel; the fluid lines were awe-inspiring. Inside, those lines lead you through gallery after gallery featuring an incredible blend of artwork, drawings, models, costumes, and photography—each piece serving as a window into a different narrative.

I left feeling genuinely inspired. Definitely put this on your list if you’re in Los Angeles.

Info from the Museum website:

“From Ma Yansong’s architectural vision to Mia Lehrer’s dynamic gardens, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art emerges from Exposition Park as a place where imagination and everyday life meet.

Architect Ma Yansong, founder of MAD, conceived the museum as a sculptural, organic form shaped by light, clouds, and the surrounding tree canopy.

Mia Lehrer and her team at Studio-MLA have transformed former parking lots into a living landscape. Native and drought-tolerant plantings, more than 200 new trees, and landforms inspired by the city’s geography create a shifting environment. Paths, meadows, and shaded gathering areas offer much-needed green space for the South Los Angeles region.” by @ericthomaschu

We made a quick visit to the Apple Park Visitor Center. Designed in a neo-futuristic style designed by the Foster & Foster architectural firm led by Norman Foster in collaboration with Steve Jobs and John Ive. It’s a beautiful Apple Store next to the Apple HQ with exclusive merchandise. It also has a rooftop terrace and a café. by @ericthomaschu
