A baseball tourney cap, an “I Voted” sticker and a Puerto Rico tee from a musical about one of our (immigrant) Founding Fathers — I’m proud of my exceedingly all-American outfit today!

Since I had to have an abortion to save my life when I began my 5-year journey to have my son Desmond (via IVF, with a donor egg), and since my daughter Summer wouldn’t be here if her birth mother wasn’t able to have an abortion when she was living in an abusive household, I am also proud to vote for the only candidate who will protect a women’s right to control what happens to her own body: Kamala Harris.

I also believe school shootings are not a “a fact of life,” as JD Vance claims, since no generation before mine ever had to worry about this daily threat to our kids.

Unlike Donald Trump, I am not a fan of dictators who want to see America fail, and I deeply respect and feel forever indebted to our military and veterans. I understand that demonizing immigrants is about as un-American as you can get (well,
except for encouraging an insurrection that injured 174 brave police officers and led 4
to die by suicide after being beaten while attempting to protect our Capitol — I still get nauseous remembering the scenes from that day. Just horrific).

I believe the 16 Nobel Prize-winning economists who warn that Trump’s high tariffs/migrant-deportation plan would cause prices to skyrocket, among other dire financial consequences.

I also trust the scientists, doctors and nurses who have devoted their lives to making the world a better, cleaner and safer place for us all. I still grieve for my loved ones who lost entire branches of their family tree to COVID because they believed Trump’s misinformation and willful ignorance about the virus.

But mostly, I never want to have to explain to my kids why I voted for a candidate who bragged about “grabbing them by the pussy,” who is a convicted felon and a rapist who cheated on all 3 of his wives … including sleeping with a porn star while his current wife was pregnant. Those aren’t OUR family values.

Here’s hoping democracy survives, and God bless America. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @erikasolson

Help us spread the word about the November 11 Chicago screening of Getting LOST! We will have a few giveaways, hopefully some fun themed drinks, and an intro and Q&A afterward with me… I am so proud to be an Executive Producer of this film.

I will be rocking my DHARMA motorpool jumpsuit, so I hope others come in costume too! #LOST #wehavetogoback #movies #chicago #gettinglost taken in Lincoln Park, Chicago by @erikasolson
