What started as an internal tool inside a Los Angeles based window tint company has grown into one of the most widely recognized software platforms in the space.

I’ve definitely been guilty of focusing too much on the gross revenue number instead of what actually matters — how much you take home.

It sounds great to say you’re doing $1M, $2M, or more in revenue, but if your expenses keep growing with it, that big number doesn’t mean nearly as much.

Revenue feeds the ego. Profit feeds the family. 💰

This was a great reminder from Erik during the last class.

New to tint, PPF, wraps, or detailing? Congrats, you might be a target. 🎯

Not for the industry itself, for the self-proclaimed "leaders" who show up acting like they just want to help a beginner out. It's usually a pitch in disguise.

Carlos's take: a lot of this comes down to new people not knowing who to trust yet.

Worth remembering, plenty of legit mentors charge for their time, that's fair, teaching takes them away from paying jobs. And plenty of great business owners never post at all, they're just heads down running their shop.

Loud or quiet, paid or free, none of that alone tells you who's real. What actually helps: check the track record, ask around, see if other techs vouch for them.

Bad info spreads fast on social media. The fix isn't more views, it's more search results.

Specific, local content that shows up when people actually search for window tint, so they find the real answer before they find the confusion.

Industry suppliers need to do more of this themselves. She calls out her own supplier, XPEL, by name. Erik's verdict? Not resolved... yet!
