Hvad har formet en af verdens mest markante filmskabere?

Lars von Trier har kurateret et udvalg af de kunstværker, der siden hans ungdom har givet kunstnerisk næring til hans film og præsenterer den kunstneriske ’familie’, på hvis skuldre Trier, ifølge ham selv, står.

Lars von Trier har skrevet bogens gennemgående tekster, og den rummer derudover bidrag af Karl Ove Knausgård, Lilian Munk Rösing, Annette Rosenvold Hvidt, Erik Steffensen og Anne Gregersen.Bogen er skabt i forbindelse med udstillingen af samme navn på Willumsens Museum og giver et sjældent indblik i de kunstværker, der har inspireret Lars von Trier gennem livet og sat spor i hans filmiske univers.

“På hvis skuldre” udkommer 6. juni på dansk, svensk og engelsk. by @eriksteffensen

We’re pleased to share that Erik Steffensen is part of the group exhibition Between Light and Matter at DGV in Svendborg.

The exhibition brings together a number of artists who each explore the nature of light and material. Together, the works point toward an understanding of how humans, nature and matter are inseparably connected — in light, in water and in time. On view are painting, installation, light-based works, paper and marble.

Opening: 19 February 2026, 17:00
The exhibition runs until 26 April 2026.

In the exhibition Landmarks, Erik Steffensen presents a series of works where photography and painting unite in a new aesthetic expression. Steffensen draws his motifs from the Danish landscape: from old grain mills and lighthouses to large stones deposited during the Ice Age that define where we are, and perhaps even who we are.

The exhibition runs at @augustiana.dk until Sunday, 2nd November.
