I’m incredibly honored to have received the Best in Show award at the Best of Gage exhibition last week. My time at Gage Academy, especially in the Kang-O’Higgins Atelier, has been deeply meaningful and formative. I’m so grateful for the chance to grow in such an inspiring, supportive, and wildly talented community here.

A heartfelt thank you to Mark Kang-O’Higgins for his generous guidance and mentorship, and to everyone at Gage who’s been part of this journey—thank you for everything.

The Rine at Dusk 1, 2024
Oil on Canvas, 30 x 40 in

The Rine peninsula—part of the Burren region just off the coast of Ballyvaughan, Ireland—is a stretch of land revealed only when the tide is out. This piece embodies a landscape shaped by constant transition.

I am delighted to share that I have been longlisted for the 2024 RDS Visual Art Awards! It’s an honor to be recognized among such talented artists from across Ireland. Thank you, @rdsdublin!

The RDS Visual Art Awards offers the most comprehensive assessment of graduate work in Ireland undertaken on a thirty-two-county basis. The VAAs is a flagship RDS Foundation project and is part of the wider RDS Arts Programme which provides a platform to support the transition from student to emerging artist, encouraging the pursuit of a career in visual art, craft and classical music.

Oil on Canvas, 202.5 x 152.5 cm (79.5 x 60 in)

The Burren’s diverse ecosystem, with its limestone pavements, rare flora, and hidden pockets of vibrant life, serves as a metaphor in this piece, mirroring the complexities of personal evolution and delving into the intricate journey of growth and transformation.

After wrapping up my MFA at the Burren College of Art, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on my time here. It’s been a while since I’ve shared any updates, but I’m excited to start posting again. Some of my favorite memories have centered around walking and soaking in the Irish sky.

Finally going to start posting some work here! This past year I have been exploring ideas regarding sense of place at the Burren College of Art in Ireland. This is one of the earlier pieces. Stay tuned for more!
