If you know me you know that dance marathon has become a huge part of my life. For my final year in Dance Marathon I have been chosen to the Family Liaison Director and be a part of the Executive Cabinet!

In this role, I get to be the bridge between our organization and the 1,500+ families we support - families whose lives have been forever changed by pediatric cancer. I also have the privilege of volunteering on level 11 of the stead family children’s hospital, where I get to see firsthand how your donations help kids smile, play, and just be kids.

Our families are at the heart of everything we do. Their strength, resilience and love reminds us every day why this fight matters. Pediatric cancer is not a choice, no child or parent ever chooses this battle. But I am choosing to stand beside them through their fight.

I am choosing to be a light on their hardest days. I am choosing to fight for more than the 4% of federal funding that pediatric cancer receives. I am choosing to stay awake for 24 hours, to dance, to hope, and to raise money so that one day, no family has to hear the words “your child has cancer”

24 hours, 20 family speakers, 10 inches of hair donated, and $8,940.52 fundraised all for the strongest kiddos in the world.

DM32 has absolutely blessed me with the greatest FRamily and leadership team to be a part of! Serving as the Family Liaison Chair has given me the opportunity to build one on one connections with our families which are moments I will forever hold in my heart. Had to take some time to reflect on this incredible experience. It is truly one I will never forget. Performing with the @trishabrowncompany this past week was something I will cherish for a lifetime time!

To this fabulous cast, thank you for making this experience so memorable. It truly is the people who make it special! All of the hard work we put in was well worth it.

To @melindajeanmyers thank you for everything! You have been such a mentor to me and have taught me so much more than just dance.
