Dark, moody, saturated…. Whatever you call them this style is beautiful with a bit of light balancing it all out. Just like today’s total solar eclipse. I hope you all take some time today to experience the phenomenon 🌒 by @erinsorensoninteriors

Powder Rooms are THE place to get a little bold! I first felt this when I was a kid at my Granny Bobs home in San Marino. There was a tiny little powder room off my Grampy’s study that went all out! Painted blue trim, bold wallpaper…. I think there was even a blue toilet! It was a jewel box of 70s glam. I wish I had taken pictures before that special home sold. 20/20 hindsight right? But this beautiful powder by @themoderncottageclt is (almost 😉) as fantastic as Grampy’s Happy First Day of Spring! by @erinsorensoninteriors

Embrace the bold elegance of dark cabinets in the kitchen! 🖤✨ Finding the perfect balance with different wood and stone tones adds depth and warmth to the space. Here are some tips:

1. **Contrast is Key:** Pair dark cabinets with lighter countertops or backsplashes to create visual contrast and prevent the space from feeling too heavy.

2. **Mixing Materials:** Experiment with different wood and stone tones to add texture and interest. For instance, consider a lighter wood flooring or a marble countertop to offset the darkness of the cabinets.

3. **Layering Lighting:** Illuminate the space with a combination of ambient, task, and accent lighting to highlight different elements and create a welcoming ambiance.

4. **Accessorize Thoughtfully:** Add some color through accessories like rugs, curtains, or decorative items to break up the darkness and infuse personality into the space.

Loving how it creates a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere! #KitchenInspiration #DarkCabinets

I am passionate about supporting women especially the moms spinning plates (and occasionally dropping a few) Happy Women’s Day 2024 @erinsorensoninteriors by @erinsorensoninteriors

I joined UCLA Anderson’s Real Estate Club for a tour of the new Pendry Newport Beach. There were so many more pictures I wanted to take in their private members club The Elwood! 🤫 So much inspiration! And I’m so impressed with the GM David Hoffman and his pride in the hotel and his fabulous staff. I can’t wait to go back by @erinsorensoninteriors

One family vacation my parents let me bring a friend. Yay! But that didn’t stop me from lining the bottom of my suitcase with a few (only 5) books. The entire week Jen, the friend, became my dads favorite child going out on the golf course to look for golf balls aka golf ball hunting. And splashing in the ocean all day with my younger brother. While I had my nose in a book whenever I could. The next summer when I asked to bring a friend with us to Hawaii my mom said it would be cheaper if I brought an extra suitcase of books…. so I did.
So if you need your bookcase to actually be a bookcase but look good. I got y’a! I get it 😉. We can do those quick upgrades that make a big impact like styling shelves. Oh and Thanks Jen for being Joel’s favorite ❤️. Design by me! @erinsorensoninteriors 📸 @amandacorsellophotography by @erinsorensoninteriors

The time with our kids feels shorter and faster everyday. So designing kids spaces bring me so much joy. These are the areas to be a bit more bold to entice those fickle attitudes (mom of tweens here). Plus they are more temporary than say a kitchen. Blink and that toddler is out of the house and at college! What did you always want in your hang out space as a kid? For me, it was an air hockey table!

Mood Boards, Design Concept, Inspiration Boards- they can be called different things at various stages of the project. Know that your designer does not just throw this together without meticulous thought behind every detail. The scale of the wall paper vs the lamp vs the details on the console vs the texture of the art….. and this is just one wall in the dining room! Frequently, my best ideas come to me in the middle of the night. One day I’ll show you the notebook I keep next to my bed.
