Oct 22nd 2023: I gave everything I had that day. I learned more about myself during those 16 hours than I ever have my entire life. Breaking my ankle at mile 123 in a 140 mile race I thought I was finished. My faith was definitely tested and I questioned everything but God will never give you something you can’t handle. Under my own will this was not possible but through Gods Grace it was. This race was dedicated to those who fought the real fight, to those who no longer can, to the 22 Veterans we loose everyday due to PTSD/TBI. This fight was for you all. Now after 4 years I can finally say, I AM AN IRONMAN!!

These past couple of months in Africa have been such a crazy ride. During my time here I had the opportunity to work with over a thousand students as part of a sports education program. What has brought me the most joy though, was having the opportunity to raise funds with help from family and friends. The money was used to help over 100 students with school supplies and provided a new water system for one of the biggest slums in Kenya. My heart is filled with joy. Thank you all for your support and well wishes throughout the trip!

Everyone growing up had something they wanted to be when they grew up, my dream was to one day become a U.S Marine. Never did I believe that one day this dream will become a reality. Some damn how it did. Although I didn't retire and make this into a career I was able to make this dream come true. I wish I had the words to fully describe the joy and love I felt throughout this journey. After my first visit to Kenya, all I could think about was returning. What I once believed would be a one time trip to Kenya has become a lifelong commitment to serving the underprivileged communities and inspiring others to do the same.

Because of your generosity, an entire special education department at Kimuchu Primary School experienced their very first field trip, an opportunity that opened their eyes to a world beyond the classroom. Your support also helped fund the continued construction of the Life Skills Oasis learning center in the Kiandutu Slums, creating a safer place for children to learn, grow, and dream. Together, we also helped provide equipment for a startup phone repair business, giving members of the community an opportunity to develop skills and earn a sustainable income.

On behalf of everyone at Kimuchu Primary School and the children and families of Kiandutu, thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

This is not the end, it’s only the beginning. Till we meet again Kenya!

Before there was 5895 meters (19,341 ft), there was 1326.

I grew up in the Alazán Courts on the West Side of San Antonio, Texas. Those projects shaped my character long before any mountain ever could.

From the West Side of San Antonio to the Roof of Africa.

This address is a reminder that where you begin doesn’t define how far you can go but it does shape who you become.

On June 25 2026, 1326 stood on the Roof of Africa with me. One day, it will stand on the summit of the world’s highest peak: Mount Everest.

Every mountain has a base.

Mine was 1326.
