I’ve Searched the World All Over reflects the philosophy of Black Angels In Flight. That to be a Black Angel is to continue ascending despite life’s hardships, to keep searching, to keep believing, and to rise above everything that tries to keep you from your destiny. Two are in love and have found what they’ve been in search of. One reaches through unanswered phone calls, hoping to fill a silence words cannot touch. Another hides behind the camera, believing that somewhere between each memory lies a way back to joy. Thank you to the city of god aka as Cidade De Deus for welcoming us with open arms. Don’t let the film ‘city of god’ confuse you, all projects of lower income and opportunity tend to be dangerous but in awe it is real love here in this Favela. Rich in culture, rich in spirit, dignity and knowing their history . Thank you Leona, King Zulu, Erick, Diego and all the directors for bringing us in safely to the City of God and helping me understand CDD, the troubles economically here in Brazil, the crime rate, healthcare, unemployment, and how the government of Brazil has and continues to turn its back against all the people who truly built the country the real history of Brazil. Far from a typical abroad trip I’ve caught myself reflecting looking at some of these images time after time and have shed tears, the smiles on the kids faces,the discussions had, emotions felt, frustrations released I’ll never forget the time we have shared this week.To the children, the parents in the favela of CDD i promise not to appear as a tourist but as a brother, a leader not only to listen to the problems you deal with everyday but to contribute to making a change. You saw it my eyes and now you will see it in my work I love you deeply CDD Às crianças e aos pais da favela da CDD: prometo não aparecer como turista, mas como um irmão, um líder — não apenas para ouvir os problemas que vocês enfrentam no dia a dia, mas para contribuir para uma mudança.
