The productions is running, now waiting for the final bounded books 📚Pre-order now available!‘We Eat the Earth’ (@crystalbennes ) explores the ways in which our collective appetite reshapes the Earth and how the production of nutrients required for agriculture impacts our political and physical environments.From Sweden to Western Sahara, England to occupied Palestine, Germany to the Netherlands, this book maps the material flows of nitrogen, potassium and phosphate fertiliser between eight key sites. We Eat the Earth reveals the destabilising global impact of fertiliser production and the devastating environmental and socio-political consequences of its extraction, production and management. ‘Built on Sand’ is a project by Marcin Piekałkiewicz, in which he examines the social, environmental, and spatial effects of rapid real estate development in Malta. The project looks at how capitalism survives by producing and constantly reshaping space. But economic growth, while often celebrated, comes with significant, hidden, costs. Since moving to Malta in 2017, @marcinpiekalkiewicz has documented rampant construction, environmental damage, housing pressure, and labour exploitation intensified by extreme population density. Final day to support @mariowezel by pre-ordering his book ‘Interstellar Nights’ (link in bio) 🩶 28 x 20 cm, 128 pages, naked spine with dots. Design by @robvanhoesel , co-published wit @imagesvevey_booksFive nights. A thermal camera. Two parents weaning their child. Breastfeeding has played a significant part in Mario Wezel’s (DE) role as a father. During the summer in which the family began to wean their younger son, Wezel installed a thermal camera above their bed. Over five restless nights, the camera released its shutter every two minutes, capturing nearly 1,800 images of waking, soothing, carrying and comforting. Through these images, the bed transforms into an interstellar space where mother, father and child orbit one another. Interstellar Nights asks what care work actually looks like, what it feels like, and what it means, not only for an individual, but also for society.The book is scheduled to be released in September at the @images_vevey Biennale in Switzerland where Mario will also exhibit his work. #bookdesign #fatherhood #breastfeeding #parenthood #weaning by @eriskayconnection

Today we were at @wilco_artbooks again. With @crystalbennes to print her second book We Eat the Earth (after Klara and the Bomb, 2022). This project is about fertiliser and its environmental and social issues. The book is laid out as a continuous stream of images, interspersed with no less than 23 short stories on single sheets. Therefore the printer had to work with a rather complex imposition, dividing the sheets in a large number of sections that all needed marking for the folding and stitching. :⁠-⁠) We'll be finishing the book with a nice purple linen in combination with a bright orange foil. NEW RELEASEPéi Brilé / Pays Brûlé / Burnt Land (Maxime Brygo)‘Péi Brilé’ is a project by @maxime.brygo that reconsiders the myths of Réunion Island through the figure of Robinson, a symbol of survival, humility and self-reliance. Through personal encounters with people living outside mainstream society in the hard-to-reach mountains, he reflects both on the island’s colonial history and examines what it means to inhabit a place. The book brings together a range of visual and textual materials, such as black-and-white images of mountains, colour landscapes and portraits of the island’s current inhabitants living in its recesses and hollows. The visuals are accompanied by historical and poetic texts about Réunion, mixing eras and myths in French, Créole Réunionnais and English.
