My pastor asked me a question that lingered with me after he said it: “What part of motherhood do you carry in silence?”

At first, I didn’t think I had an answer. I’m only four months in.

I thought the aches belonged to the seasoned mothers, the ones who have lived decades of letting go.

But as I sat with it, I realized God had already been teaching me something.

I’m carrying the ache of the “lasts.”

The last time he fit into a newborn onesie. The last time he made that tiny curious O‑shaped face. The last time he curled into that newborn scrunch, like he hadn’t quite decided to fully arrive yet.

I didn’t know those were the last times until they were gone.

Motherhood is full of these invisible endings… the ones you only recognize in hindsight. And with every new milestone, there’s a subtle goodbye to who they were just a moment before.

It’s joy and grief woven together.

It’s the sacred moments, teaching me to pay attention.

And maybe that’s the silent work of the Lord, steadying my heart as I hold on and let go at the same time.

Brody Joshua Davis, my heart has never felt so full 🫶🏼 Feeling beyond privileged that God chose us to be your parents.

Spending these past couple weeks in the newborn bubble, soaking in of the snuggles and intimate moments just the 3 of us, will certainly be the moments I look back on and cherish for a lifetime.

One of my favorite seasons, one of my sweetest trips around the sun. I’m in awe watching my life unfold and seeing the prayers that the Lord continues to answer. The beauty is only beginning, and each day has been a gift. I’m full of hope for what’s ahead 🩵🩵🩵

This truly was my dream baby shower 🤍 And I am so grateful to have the sweetest friends who worked so hard to not only put it all together, but to make us feel so loved.
