my experience over the past almost two years creating the 10-year anniversary yearbook for my beloved Spelman Class of 2015 has been nothing short of phenomenal.

the production process has been way more challenging than i expected but also even more rewarding than i ever imagined. after countless hours conducting research, sourcing photos, compiling content, designing, revising, proofing and so much more, the outpouring of love & acclaim the book has received since its release has made all the late nights & early mornings beyond worth it. i’m truly in awe & overjoyed by the impact this book has had.

i returned to Spelman this April where i enjoyed many surreal full circle moments — i spoke about the book design process to a class taught by my former graphic design professor; attended the senior art shows and doc film showcase of the C'2026 members who just graduated from the programs that evolved from the arts curriculum i participated in as a student; and submitted our yearbook to be forever preserved as cherished history in the Spelman College Archives, where i was first inspired to create it.

as we mark 11 years since our graduation, having this book to reminisce on it all and reflect on who we were then, and who we are now, has been incredibly special. my college self would be so proud of who i am and what i've accomplished. i’m beyond grateful to have sustained the friendships i built then, and to have had the opportunity this past year to build new connections with more C'2015 sisters.

thank you so deeply to everyone who has supported this production in any way — the committee who contributed so much to make this book the best version it could be, the extended team who helped us polish and present it to the class, spelman staff who provided invaluable images from our campus years, everyone who sent photos and wrote memories, everyone who ordered a copy, and most of all my mom without whom i couldn’t have done any of this. i’m forever grateful to each of you for making this project possible and much more meaningful than i ever imagined. 🩵 by @erykahaus
