Feeling so rich in life. Starting my birthday with a grateful heart for another year, the people I love, and all the little things that make life sweet. A little Venus energy and a lot of gratitude.

MI GENTE IT IS BENITO BOWL SUNDAY!

When I hear that line ”Debí tirar más fotos de cuando te tuve ” it hits. Because I look at the pictures of my abuelos and I think… we should’ve taken more. More laughs, more hugs, more moments frozen in time!

Today I honor them. The ones who left their homeland (Comanja, Michoacán). The ones who worked, sacrificed, and raised generations with love. The ones who built the roots I stand on. Just like Benito stands on the roots of Puerto Rico… unapologetically, sin miedo, sin traducción! He walks onto every stage speaking Spanish, singing in Spanish, representing who he is in every space he enters.

When he said “ICE out” before thanking God… that wasn’t politics. That was humanity. Because no family should live in fear. No child should wonder if their parents are coming home. We don’t want terror in our neighborhoods… we want peace, dignity, and love.

His Grammy speech was for the ones searching for a better future. And that message is for our grandparents… our parents… for all of you/us.

So this post I honor mine. For the ones who raised me. For the ones I miss every single day. For the ones I would give anything to hug one more time…
and take just one more photo with.

In this era, it’s more important than ever to know who you are. To represent where you come from.
To walk into every space with love, pride, and peace. Be loud about your roots. Be proud of your story. And never forget the hands that built your path. Viva la cultura. Viva nuestros abuelos. Y Viva nuestra gente.

Now today go dance, hug your people, and take the photo. Porque mañana… you’ll wish you did.

His story is the reason I speak up. Our family journey is why I fight back. My family sacrifice made me who I am.

Feliz cumpleaños, Papá. You didn’t just give me life you gave me legacy.

Today, we have every reason to be loud and proud.

Hispanic Heritage Month may bring attention to our culture, but many of us embody our roots, share our stories, and amplify our voices every day.

As you honor your heritage, celebrate the courage behind El Grito, and use our voices to shape the future, remember that our culture is our pride, and our vote is our power. Don’t forget to register to vote!

In 2022, I saw #ESCLAUDIA all around Michoacán. It was the first time I saw a woman’s name being promoted throughout the motherland. Intrigued and inspired, I researched her, listened to MX podcasts, and of course, my pops filled me in about Mexican politics.

@claudia_shein visited Michoacán and received her blessing. Her story, courage, and her unwavering determination ignited a fire within myself and many.

I have immense faith in her leadership.

As a dual citizen, I am deeply concerned about the issues in both US and Mexico (soy de aquí y de allá). The challenges throughout the world right now are overwhelming, but it’s always important to be informed about EVERYTHING.

Claudia’s victory is not just a personal achievement but a symbol of progress and resilience.

May Mexico enter this new era of prosperity and justice!

Congratulations to the first female President of Mexico!
