Just wanted to be clear I don’t make a charge or a booking fee when you book a holiday with me

If I’m doing all the research for your trip or I’m booking a staycation, flight, hotel or making a complete package for you I won’t charge you any kind of fee

The hotels and companies that I work with give me commission on the bookings I make - you will never be charged a fee from me

I was asked last week - Aren’t you more expensive than booking myself? I am highly competitive and I do have deals that a lot of the times you can’t find online

Also booking with a travel counselor it’s not always about finding the best deal. Its the value of booking with someone who has expert knowledge. Someone who can be a helping hand if anything goes wrong and can take the hassle out of planning and booking your perfect trip

Travel recommendations I’m completely obsessed with...

These are the places I keep coming back to and recommending to my clients.

Disney Cruise – One of our favourite family holidays. My boys still talk about meeting all the Disney characters, the incredible themed restaurants and racing down the waterslides on deck. It really is Disney magic at sea.

Iceland – Very high on my bucket list. Waterfalls, geysers, whale watching and dramatic landscapes… it looks like nowhere else on Earth and is the perfect summer adventure.

The Amalfi Coast – Straight out of a movie. Colourful cliffside towns, glamorous beach clubs and incredible food. I’d love to visit in spring before the summer crowds arrive.

Evian Resort, France – An absolute dream for families. Set on the shores of Lake Geneva, it has an amazing kids’ club, endless outdoor activities, a beautiful spa and even a Michelin starred restaurant.

I had the pleasure of having a sneak peek at some of the beautiful rooms at Atlantis The Royal last month. Can you believe it’s already been three years since it opened with that huge launch party featuring Beyoncé?

The hotel is absolutely enormous. What many people don’t realise is that only half of the iconic building is actually the hotel, the other half is made up of private residences.

With 17 restaurants, there’s certainly no shortage of dining options. The newest addition is Carbone, the famous American Italian restaurant that’s extremely popular.

The rooms are impeccable and truly stunning. The best thing? There isn’t a bad view. You can choose between Palm views, with Dubai’s skyline laid out in front of you, or sea views. Most visitors tend to favour the Palm view, but as someone who lives in Dubai and likes to feel like I’ve escaped, I’d choose the sea view every time. It genuinely feels like you’re on a luxury cruise ship.

One thing to note is that this is a very large resort, so if you prefer smaller boutique style hotels, it may not be the right fit for you.

The facilities are incredible, with a family pool, an adults only pool, and a spa pool which is also reserved for adults.

Then there’s Cloud 22, the famous sky high infinity pool. It’s currently closed for refurbishment, but when it reopens, guests can access it for an additional charge.

Some of the suites even come with their own private pools, taking luxury to another level.

And of course, one of the biggest perks of staying here is having access to the world famous Aquaventure Waterpark. It’s worth noting that a handful of rides are currently closed for maintenance and refurbishment, so it’s worth checking with me, what’s operating before your visit if the waterpark is a big part of your stay.

A truly impressive resort that continues to set the standard for luxury in Dubai.

One of the absolute highlights of our recent trip to Oman was spending the day at the Daymaniyat Islands

Located around 45 minutes from Muscat by speedboat, the Daymaniyat Islands are a protected nature reserve made up of nine uninhabited islands. Known for their clear waters, coral reefs and incredible marine life, they’re often considered one of the best snorkelling spots in the Middle East.

For our trip, I chose Daymaniyat Shells, who had been highly recommended to me, and they were fantastic from start to finish.

We visited two different snorkelling spots and had plenty of time in the water. Within minutes of jumping in, we spotted an octopus, and it wasn’t long before we were swimming alongside several turtles. With the turquoise water and colourful fish, it genuinely felt like we were snorkelling in the Maldives.

The islands are carefully protected, with visitor numbers restricted and only a limited number of boats allowed each day, which helps preserve the environment and means it never feels overcrowded.

Between May and October, access to the beaches is restricted due to turtle nesting season, but the snorkelling remains just as spectacular.

If you’re visiting Oman, I couldn’t recommend a trip to the Daymaniyat Islands more highly. It’s a truly special experience and one that we’ll be talking about for a long time to come

These rules aren’t new, but travellers are still getting caught out every day.

Since the UK left the EU, UK passport holders travelling to EU and Schengen countries must meet two separate passport requirements:

Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave the country you’re visiting (check the expiry date).

Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (check the date of issue).

These rules are independent of each other, so you need to be able to answer YES to both.

Many travellers assume they’re fine because their passport hasn’t expired, only to discover it was issued more than 10 years ago and is no longer valid for travel.

While you’re checking your passport, also make sure:

You have enough blank pages available for entry and exit stamps where required.

There are no tears, damage, loose pages, or significant wear and tear that could make your passport invalid.

Unfortunately, these are things nobody else can check for you!

Don’t let a simple passport issue ruin your holiday before it even begins. Take two minutes today to double check yours and avoid any last minute airport surprises.
