This September, a group of our postgraduate students had the opportunity to look behind the scenes at a world-leading visual effects and colour grading studio at Time Based Arts in Shoreditch! Organised by our Talent Development Manager Will Hughes, the students were shown around the colourful and creative studio premises by Operations Manager Harry Jones.

Afterwards, they got to hear from 3D Artist Oliver Lèmery and Flame Artist Ria Shroff on how different roles across the studio collaborate on projects for major clients including a recent campaign for Lego, and a Q&A session where students got to chat about career advice and routes into industry.

A special shoutout to Emma Richards and Callum Wylie for joining us and chatting with our students about their experiences working in the industry. We hope you enjoyed getting stuck into our playable student games, while our Immersive Mirror experience gave you a taste of the exciting and ever-evolving world of Immersive Media. And we have to say, the Drawing Club designs were on fire! 🔥

Freshers’ week wrap-up! 🚀 what a way to kick off life at Escape Studios…

Private screening of Project Hail Mary and an exclusive talk with Framestore Animation Supervisor Dan Blacker. And be honest… who else teared up at Rocky? 🥹

Students also got stuck into our Societies Fair, finding their people and discovering plenty of ways to get involved beyond the classroom. Creative Writing, Dance, Football, Film, Skate, Tabletop Society and plenty more on offer, there’s something for every kind of creative.

We can't forget the Arcade Night! Students from all levels came together to meet classmates. With arcade cabinets, retro consoles and pinball machines free to play all night, plus food and drinks on hand, it was the perfect way to settle into the Escape community.

Now let’s see what the rest of the year brings…
