𝒜𝓈 𝑀𝓊𝒸𝒽 𝒷𝓎 𝒜𝓇𝓉 𝒶𝓈 𝒮𝓉𝓇𝑒𝓃𝑔𝓉𝒽 presents 𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐄. Come celebrate the award-winning documentary exploring an international cross country relay and how it all started. This is more than just a screening. We’ll look back at the ESCAPEs that brought us here, revisiting moments and stories from past journeys before arriving in Cape Town—and offering a glimpse of where they’ll be headed next. This is a moment to celebrate the people we move with, the communities we encounter and the connections we make along the way, which ultimately shape who we are. Stay after the film for an intimate panel discussion with the production team, sharing stories from behind the scenes and exploring why ESCAPE has always been about more than just an event—it’s a journey rooted in purpose, intention and genuine connection. The bar at Northern Contemporary Gallery (420 Roncesvalles Avenue) will be open before and after the screening from 2pm to 2am, so come grab a drink, connect with the community and hang with us on either side of the film. The first 60 people through Revue Cinema’s doors will receive a limited ESCAPE bandana, with some other limited pieces making their way into the room throughout the night. Come early, stay late. ⏰ Most importantly, a portion of every ticket sold will go back to Run4Schools, continuing a relationship that became an integral part of the ESCAPE journey in South Africa. 🔗 Link in bio to register. Escape has officially won an award (GOLD!) at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa for the Doc/TV and Web Series in the Adventure, Expeditions and Travel category! This recognition feels especially meaningful because it’s a celebration of storytelling. Bringing the Escape journey to life in this documentary in a way that connects not just with runners, but with anyone who has ever asked themselves “Who am I?” and wondered about their place in the world, has been such a beautiful process. “We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.” Jimmy Neil Smith Thank you to @_itffa for this award ⭐️ by @escapethedoc
GOLD. 🏆 We’re incredibly honoured to share that ESCAPE has been awarded Gold at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa @_itffa What began as a story about running quickly became a story about people — about connection, belonging, adventure, and the ways we discover ourselves through the communities that shape us. While we couldn’t be there in person, we’re deeply grateful to Q’s cousin @cathsouthafrica_ and her partner @bladelane for representing the film, attending the awards ceremony, and accepting the award on our behalf. Having family stand in our place made this recognition feel even more meaningful. Congratulations to Directors @justinmanabat and @larissaparekh , and Executive Producers @quinton_jacobs and @adriananvari on this recognition, and to @run4schoolsfoundation , whose work and impact remain at the heart of this story. The journey continues. ❤️ #EscapeFilm #Ubuntu #ITFFA #ConnectionThroughRunning #TourismFilmFestivalAfrica by @escapethedoc
@escape_to___ and @therunparlour are coming together for an intimate evening of film, conversation, and connection. @escapethedoc has only been screened a handful of times, so if you’ve been wanting to experience the film and missed the earlier screenings, this may be the chance. Set against the backdrop of South Africa, ESCAPE reflects on how shared experiences, challenges, and adventure have the power to shape us — reminding us that who we become is often tied to who we journey beside. Following the screening, stay for a conversation with the production team, food + drinks, and giveaways from @on. Limited Escape merch will also be available.👀 *The following morning we’ll continue the Escape antics and 2027 scheming😏… with a long run and @on shoe demo. SATURDAY JUNE 13th 6PM 1851 Bayfield Landing 21 Bayfield Main St N, Bayfield, ON 🙌🏽🇿🇦✨ Attendance is by donation in support of @ubuntu.fam . {Ticket link in bio} by @escapethedoc
Highlighting the screenings that happened in the two places this documentary calls home: Toronto (Oct 2025) and South Africa (Apr 2026) 🤍 Thank you thank you thank you to anyone and everyone who has supported this film and its message, in any way shape or form. Forever grateful for the people and places that made this all possible. Your Directors, LP & JM by @escapethedoc
EXCITING NEWS! Escape is set to make its World Premiere at the 2026 Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival! @thevimff Our first film festival acceptance has us buzzing with excitement (and of course, a little nervousness). This will be the first time Escape will be seen outside of those close to it. It’s an honour to share this work with strangers and hope people connect to this story of identity, connection and community. This wouldn’t be possible without @escape_to___ continuing to bring people together through the world of running, and of course @quinton_jacobs for being vulnerable and open to this filming experience. This is more than a documentary. The mission continues to raise funds for @run4schoolsfoundation to provide a safe running space for kids in Mitchells Plain, South Africa. This project was a true labour of love. Thank you to our small but mighty crew who made it possible. 2026 will be a year of celebrating this project and sharing it with the world! A few months back, we gathered friends and family for a private fundraising event to celebrate those who made this journey possible. So much love in one room 🤍 Since then? A lot has happened, and we’re excited to share it all with you. Stay tuned 👀 📸 @grahambaird_photo by @escapethedoc
