Galapagos Islands behind the scenes!

Happy Valentine’s Day. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. A lot going on.

My family and I are moving from North Carolina to France at the end of the month, so we’ve been packing up and re-organizing ourselves for that. It’s a bit chaotic over here.

I haven’t had a lot of time for VR work... but don’t worry, I’m almost done with my latest video from a trip to the #Galapagos a few months ago. Hoping it will be done and uploaded by next week.

A big thank you to my new paying monthly subscribers on Patreon!

I really appreciate you guys subscribing or buying my premium videos.
So thank you for your support. 🙏

I’ve got some ideas for exclusive membership content moving forward, like monthly Q&A sessions, some behind the scenes videos, high-resolution VR180 landscape photos to view on your headset, and more.

Because I’ll be in Europe soon, let me know if you have any destinations over there you’d like me to film! Historic landmarks, famous cities, epic nature hikes, etc. I’ve already got some good ones in mind, and can’t wait to start filming again.

After the Galápagos Islands animals video goes up, and we get settled into our new town in France, I’ll begin working on recent footage filmed in Thailand (elephants & temples) as well as a meditation style nature VR180 video from the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. It’s really peaceful out there at sunrise...

- Matt

What’s the best way to watch my immersive 3D VR180 travel videos?

The @apple Vision Pro headset.

It supports up to 12k video, and spatial audio (sound coming from multiple directions). Along with magical eye tracking & hand gestures for control, it’s really incredible technology.

I do most of my work on the Vision Pro these days, connected to a Mac Studio as a giant virtual monitor. Watching traditional movies on it is amazing too. It’s like a high-end personal home theater on your face (awesome for long flights!)

The Vision Pro isn’t cheap. But Apple is working on a new version that should be less expensive in 2025.

If you haven’t tried it yet, Apple offers free 30min demos of the #AppleVisionPro at the Apple Store. Go give it a shot to see where the future is heading!

8k 3D VR180 videos can also be watched on Meta Quest VR headsets too (like the Quest 3).
