PTown was absolute magic.

Cosmos, live music and stellar performances, late night piano bar sing-a-longs, the trek to Boy Beach, coconut cake, steamers, incredible sunsets and a whole lot of JOY!

Until next time you little magical place. 🦞❤️🏳️‍🌈 taken in Provincetown, Massachusetts by @escunningham

Today marks the final performance of our 94th summer season at the New London Barn Playhouse, and my 12th consecutive season here.

The Barn has been telling stories in this charming New Hampshire town since 1933, making it one of the oldest continuously operating summer theatres in the country. Ninety four years is a long time for anything to survive, let alone a nonprofit theatre that depends every single season on the generosity of people who believe live performance still matters. I feel an enormous amount of pride in being one of the people entrusted to carry that legacy forward.

This season gave us so much to celebrate:

We built new collaborations that pushed our artistic ambitions further, including opening with Man of La Mancha in Concert alongside Symphony NH and the incredibly successful NEST development of WAKEMAN alongside @lilydorment of Limehouse Productions.

We welcomed new audiences through our doors, many experiencing the Barn for the very first time.

We surpassed our development goals this year, and just as importantly, we stayed focused on the patron and donor experience itself. Whether someone has a seat in the front row or in the back of the house, our job is to make sure they feel like they have front row seats all season long.

None of this happens without extraordinary people:

Our acting intern company, who poured themselves into every role and every performance across the summer.

The creative teams who shaped each production with vision and care, finding a way to tell stories and invite our audiences into that story in an intimate space.

Our tech company, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes so that every show ran seamlessly.

Our education and children’s theatre team, who gave so many young people their first taste of the magic of live theatre, and gave them reasons to celebrate themselves.

A major shout out to members of our Senior Staff who I am also incredible grateful to work alongside:
@abbylpeel @jross092 @tylersiimons @metalmaiden97 @ahubbard_ @sarahhcase Beth Perregaux and @keithcough

Cheers to the 94th season, and onward to the 95th!

I kept chanting “run your race, run your pace”! My 5th time running the best 13.1 miles in New England. The perfect day for the course today, and I shaved 5 minutes off my time from last year!
