🎓 Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts!

Wow! I am proud to announce that I have graduated the bachelor programme of Fine Art in Education at the @breitner_academie in Amsterdam.

On July 4, I officially received my diploma B.Ed. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to develop myself as a teacher (first-degree teaching qualification) & artist, and I have completed my graduation research on fine arts, scent, cultural experience, and identity.

I am very grateful for my time at the academy thanks to the lessons from my teachers. They taught me that there are multiple perspectives on the world and it’s knowledge, which have helped me to better understand my place in the world and in art education; and I would like to continue this in my own teaching and artistic practice.

My graduation work, "Ethnic Punk" (2025) from the Breitner Academy, was included in the Metropolis M graduation publication (Aug/Sep)!

It feels so special to see my work and thoughts featured in such an important magazine.

“Your sketches look like tattoo-flashes!”

As someone who absolutely loves tattoo design and sharing culture, this reaction to one of my recent sketches truly made my day. @puck27_ recently got one of my flower designs tattooed (super sickkk!) — a piece with a story stretching across centuries. It’s my adaptation of a floral mural from the Red Fort in New Delhi, captured in a photograph my parents took during their trip to India 25 years ago. The original 17th-century motif, created under Emperor Shah Jahan, blends Persian, Central Asian, and Indian artistry. By reimagining it, I felt connected to its history and now that connection lives on — carrying the story wherever she goes. 🙏🏽❤️ by @eshitaprins

Only this weekend you’ll be able to view my art installation ‘Ethnic Punk’ at the graduation exposition at Breitner Academy Amsterdam! This Saturday and Sunday: 12.00u-16.00u.

The title Ethnic Punk refers to the aftermath of the colonial era and the complex ways in which contemporary cultural identities are shaped, suppressed, and reclaimed.
With Ethnic Punk, I question the boundaries between homage and appropriation, between tradition and rebellion. At the same time, the installation calls for pride—in cultural heritage, in self-expression, and in the right to be seen.

Take a look at the making-of of the custom ‘molten silver ring’. The lost wax method is a traditional jewellery-making technique that ensures each piece is truly one of a kind. It starts with carving or shaping a design in wax, which is then encased in a mold. When heated, the wax melts away, leaving a cavity that is filled with molten silver. Once cooled, the mold is broken to reveal the unique silver piece, which is then polished and finished by hand. Because the wax model is destroyed in the process, no two pieces can ever be exactly the same, making each creation a singular work of art.✨ by @eshitaprins
