What does great leadership sound like?

San Francisco Opera Music Director Eun Sun Kim recently welcomed leaders from Airbnb into the rehearsal room to explore how communication, trust, and shared purpose shape an orchestra’s performance.

In an orchestra, every musician brings individual expertise, but it is the conductor’s responsibility to communicate a clear vision and help those individual contributions become something greater.

Through conversation, observation, and hands-on conducting experiences, participants considered how these same principles can help teams in any field perform at their best.

Now we play.

There is nothing I would rather do than walk into the pit with the musicians of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.

I am proud of our musicians beyond words — for their artistry, and for the spirit they bring to everything we do together.

I also want to thank our singers, our chorus, and every member of the artistic, technical, and administrative team for their patience and their commitment. And to you, our audience: thank you for waiting for us. Now, we give it all back to you.

We are here together, through music.
Welcome to Simon Boccanegra. by @eskconductor
