Recap: The Power of Play⁠⁠Last Saturday, we spent a day reconnecting with our inner child during the Power of Play workshop, led by OSCAM team member Esma Sanches (@esmasanches).⁠⁠It was a moment to get out of our heads and into our hands. Inspired by Black Childish’s (@blackchildish) exhibition at the museum, guests created their own Joy Soldiers (@joysoldiers) before moving into an energetic djembe drumming session led by Wulabakan.⁠⁠A huge thank you to Esma Sanches, Black Childish, Wulabakan, and everyone who joined us and participated so joyfully.⁠⁠VIdeography by Shalina Halma (@shalinahalma) by @esmasanches

Release Your Inner Child where @esmasanches invites you to revisit childhood through artistic practice and lived memory.The program opens with Create Your Own Joy Soldier, a clay workshop where participants shape a figure inspired by childhood memories, defining moments or imagined futures. The session moves between making and storytelling, opening space for personal reflection through form.The afternoon continues with a Djembe Drumming Session led by Wulabakan, where rhythm becomes a shared language that brings people together and carries collective energy.Themed snacks and drinks are available throughout the event.
