10 years ago TODAY my album “We Were Wild” was released into the world ❤️‍🔥⛓️‍💥

When I told my sweet, eloquent grandma (whom I really miss being able to talk with these days) the album title she said - “It begs the question that if we were wild, what are we now?” And that is EXACTLY the point.

Reflecting on the life of these songs over the last decade, I want to say thank you to all of YOU who have listened and maybe invited them into your hearts. Making this album was a process, as I describe more fully on my Patreon. Though I am so proud that it was made manifest, my most luminous memories are of playing these songs live for you all. Whether they were small, sweaty clubs, outdoor rain or shine festivals, desks of renown tinyness, churches, living rooms or amphitheaters, you all made it feel magical and helped me feel truly free! And reconnecting to that state of being is the intention guiding this collection of songs, after all.

Join me in celebration and reminiscence with these anniversary offerings:

Hate to brag, but we kinda outdid ourselves with the harvest season CSA boxes. This offering contains:

Eggplants, bell and serrano peppers, butternut squash, basil, sage and chives, as well as pickled green tomato relish (aka chow chow!), marinara, apple cider mustard, roasted pepita and sage finishing salt and vinegar + pepper sauce

All made with organic veggies and herbs from Esmé’s garden! 🪏🌱 Each box also comes with a handwritten recipe from Esmé’s kitchen, this time it was stuffed peppers, yum!!

Patreon members - This month’s song is a fun one! In honor of the 10th anniversary of We Were Wild this year, we went back into the studio and put the FUN back into this title track.

This version makes me smile everytime I hear it. I hope it makes you smile too-and helps you remember how to be wild (insert howl here)! 🐾🌾

My grandmother, Ruth Betz, has departed this life and I miss her already. She lived to 102, y’all! She was so funny, blindingly smart, she had the best laugh, she taught me how to insult someone in Gaelic... Everyone pls drink a Bombay martini with a twist in honor of our Ruthie.

This month’s tune is a high lonesome wail of a song, stark and plaintive. 🏜️ ✨
It’s a little musical meditation, complete with crickets, distant thunder and a creaky porch chair on a hot Sedona night.

July’s song of the month is appropriately 🔥 What do the Tao Te Ching, Cool Hand Luke and poetry of paradox have to do with getting it on? Well, you’ll have to join my Patreon to uncover the mystery 🕳️
