Today I give thanks! Celebrating another year of life. A simple day spent with most with the woman that gave birth to me. I cooked for my mom, my sister Tita, my Earth Patricia and Baby Rhea. Give thanks for all the calls, text, msg and prayers I received. The B&W pic is of me celebrating my 1st bday at my Abuela’s home in Cuba, surround by the kids from my barrio in Camaguey Cuba, the second pics was celebrating the end of 2024 ending our last event with the adults in the Culture, big kids from different Barrios. ♥️ Any Amount will Help & Share ♥️ The past four years have been difficult, but we have created so many magical moments and wonderful memories. I have been low key about posting, but in the 15 days I will post a lot more, so that those that are watching can understand, what so many already do. The importance of Esquina De Abuela as a grassroots community cultural center that has served the local, national & international community. With its desires and efforts to unite us through the arts, cultural experience, connecting, community and a sense of justice for all people. I hope you are able to contribute in whatever capacity you can to keep us going into this new chapter. Please check out bio where we have a fundrazr account and/or DM us for any larger donations or ideas to help us through these challenges. I’m only able to ask for help, because we have already helped so many in the last 9 years since I moved into the property, and about 8 years since I created “Esquina De Abuela” and now with “Soy La Caridad Foundation” soon we will be able to get Grants and Donations to continue to bless the community without it affecting the business side of things. Thank you @jaimeandresphoto for this interview & putting this video together on my Bday after I spent the morning at Miami Dade’s “STATE OF THE ARTS” meeting where I heard from so many speakers express the importance of Art & Culture at all levels including the grassroots level. Fuego at the Square ❤️‍🔥🇨🇺 Thank you to everyone who came out, shared space, created, listened, and supported. Your presence and energy mean more than you know. Right now, Cuba feels closer than ever to the possibility of freedom. The artistic movement inside the island is one of many resistance movements courageously pushing for change — and we are proud to amplify those voices. Coincidentally, February 28 became an international day where Cubans around the world — inside and outside the island — were sharing one clear message: Cuba wants freedom. Through art, poetry, music, and conversation, we were able to be part of that global moment. In times when narratives can get blurred, spaces like this matter. Art keeps truth alive. El espectáculo de medio tiempo del Super Bowl de ayer fue tan especial que se expresó un mensaje tan significativo y la historia y la cultura de Boriken se entregaron maravillosamente a una amplia audiencia. Y un recordatorio de que “Lo único más fuerte que el odio es el amor!!” Puerto Rico tiene un lugar muy especial en mi corazón, desde que cuando vine de Cuba, esta isla acogieron a mi familia y ¡mis primeros recuerdos son de La isla del Encanto! Mia Abuela por parte de padre esta enterados en Arecibo, tengo hermana, y sobrinos nacido en PR, tengo familia y buena amistad en la isla! Empeze kindergarten en PR, y termine mi Bachelor in la Inter de Cupey! Son muchas las mememorias de esta Bella isla, que orgullo para todo los latinos y benidicion para todos ver y escuchar esta musica y vibra tan positiva! Happy Cumpleaños to Ignacio Gonzalez Ignacio was grounds keeper of Esquina De Abuela, but more than that he was a gentle souls that cared deeply about the well being of others. He loved kids, animals and would be willing to give you his last dollar or to share his meal with you. It was an honor to share 10 years together cleaning up, creating and maintaining Esquina De Abuela for so many to benefit for the magic of EDA. Gracias Ignacio por darnos tu ultimos años de tu vida para ayudar crear, cuidar y mantener a Esquina De Abuela. Gracias por el amor que le ofreciste a nuestro perritos, y a todos los que llegaron.
