One more time, 35.

I’ve watched Justin Verlander take the mound in Detroit for most of my adult life. Cy Youngs, no-hitters, October baseball, 100 mph fastballs—and a whole lot of memories along the way. Today I got to watch my favorite Tiger do it one last time.

Some players are part of a team. Some become part of how you remember an era of your life. JV will always be that for me.

“the last time i borrowed this jersey from my brother the pistons were playing at the palace” by @brooke.hitchcock

I love art that remembers something quietly.

This piece pulled me in because it feels less like a sports painting and more like a memory — the 2000s Pistons era, The Palace, making sure the outfit was great, growing up around Detroit basketball. The missing face keeps it universal and slightly mysterious. The small scale keeps it intimate.

It doesn’t scream fandom. It just feels human.

my last #medalmonday 🏅 for a few months!

1:37:25 at the RBC Brooklyn Half this past weekend.
top 12% overall in a field of 30,000+.

the opening miles were far less forgiving as the climbs through Prospect Park were tougher than i expected and i paid for some early effort later on, but i stayed composed and kept moving steady and strong. this one meant a little more than usual and it was amazing to be in such a tough and ambitious field of runners in nyc.

not my fastest race.
definitely one i’m proud of.
