“Sport art used to be cool, and now I hate it,” says @_oditi co-founder @harryckb

Earlier this year, @_oditi inked a first-of-its-kind partnership with @cadillacf1 to produce a race-specific print for every stop on the 2026 championship calendar. Their goal is to bring creativity and artistry back to sports art.

The artists ODITI works with have devoted fanbases and cool brands that can give a big name like the Cadillac Formula 1 Team some internet cred. It’s a bit winking and referential – we know what’s good – in a way that the hyperonline love.

“This one kind of went viral within the Formula 1 Reddit thread,” Beard says, gesturing to the print made by Elizabeth Langreiter for the Australian GP, a scene of a sunny race track painted in a textural way, the effect almost like a tennis hardcourt surface. “People in the comments are saying, ‘Cadillac have already won.’”

The secret is out, @mathilda.paatz is multi-talented. Not only is she a star on the racetrack, but she’s a force on the slopes and on the dance floor, too.

Ahead of Silverstone, the 17-year-old F1 Academy driver with @astonmartinf1 and @prema_team walked us through her path to motorsport stardom, as well as her skiing, dancing, relationship with Fernando Alonso, and stuffed raccoon.

F1 designers, engineers, and aerodynamicists spend their careers chasing perfection to the tenth of a millimeter. Here, they name the one object — outside the sport — that gets everything right.

Our first response comes from Arron Melvin, former head of Aerodynamics at Haas, who gave us an answer we weren’t expecting: an $800 bathroom sink faucet.

“If you listen to any designers, they all say the same thing: Simplicity and clarity is elegant.”

Beyond its aesthetics, the faucet is convenient and intuitive and the function is clear. Most importantly though, according to Melvin, “It doesn’t bug me.”

“I have issues with everything,” he says with a laugh. “My list of projects of things I’m going to redesign is extremely long.”

You can read our series, “One Perfect Object” in Issue 06 and online at the link in bio.

The passion and emotion of @theereboseffect is perfect for the elegance of F1, and for that, they’ve made it on our artist watchlist.

Erebos is a 17 year old Malaysian artist who uses both traditional and digital drawing techniques to bring their vision to life. In their words, “I like to think of my work as a balance between the fundamental ‘rules’ of art and my personal style.”

Introduced to F1 in late 2023 during a very developmental phase of their art journey, Erebos was immediately hooked. “Everything in F1 is so striking and intricate, yet glamorous and elegant. I love F1 because it’s so easy to make art of- it instantly gives you the feeling of speed, exhilaration, and triumph, which translates naturally into the art I make of it.”

The Belgian GP at Spa-Francorchamps is a paradox: a circuit of violence surrounded by whispering trees. The fastest sport in the world, framed in stillness.

So last year, Esses sent @henrikringner to @circuit_spa_francorchamps for four days to capture this contrast on medium format film. He brought three cameras, a Mamiya RZ67, a Mamiya 645, and an Olympus MJU-I, and 25 rolls of film. What resulted is a study of those contradictions.

@lauracwinter has been a constant.

For millions of F1 viewers around the world, she’s a fan favorite, especially among women and girls who tune in to her live pre- and post-race coverage throughout the calendar.

In her seven years since joining the sport, she’s been a tireless advocate for women in racing, enthusiastically supporting F1 Academy and promoting other women who work on and off the grid.

With only a few races in the rearview after coming back from maternity leave, Winter somehow managed to speak with Esses between naps and feedings about being a woman and a new mom in the world of F1.

F1 Academy has taken over race weekends, and we caught up with our favorite racing series at Silverstone 🏎️

To capture the action up-close, Esses gave F1 Academy drivers around the paddock disposable cameras and let them loose!

Your favorite drivers captured personality pictures, celebration moments, and general cross-team camaraderie, basically a snapshot behind-the-scenes of one of the most exciting rounds on the calendar.

By now, we are all aware of the stats — women make up 42 percent of total F1 fandom and 74 percent of all new fans.

More fans are entering the sport through personal connection, lifestyle alignments, and modern media channels but the way we consume sport has diversified into something more intimate. No longer is F1 the province of a single TV that a household gathers around. No longer are fandoms tethered to team logos and passed down through the generations. Formula 1 has become dynamic, personality-driven, and online-native.

Therefore, as fans, we are demanding more from the sport than ever, and if we don’t get it, we will take it upon ourselves to define what the sport can mean. What feels significant now, though, is brands are finally waking up to meet us all in the middle.

Enter: the cute-ification of F1. Read the full story online at the link in bio and in Issue 06.

After meeting at Virgil Abloh’s Alaska Alaska, Tawanda Chiweshe and Francisco Gaspar started @yy__exchange and now, they’ve married their love of industrial design and Formula 1.

The London-based studio recently presented their latest furniture collection: a series of sculptural tables, seating, and lighting that translate the engineering logic and aesthetic intensity of F1 into physical objects.

Arriving in the wake of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the project drops at a moment when F1’s cultural reach has never been broader. Grand prix racing now spills into luxury design, fashion, and wider contemporary aesthetics. YY’s work sits directly within this shift, treating motorsport not just as a reference point, but as a design system in itself.

“I think it’s a positive sign when worlds collapse and people stop existing in silos. People often separate their interests — music here, sport there, design elsewhere — but what feels more human is the overlap,” shares Tawanda Chiweshe.
